Honestly, no cynicism meant, it was a genuine question from somebody who enjoys making music purely for his own satisfaction and enjoyment. I'll never make a penny from my hobby. Every plugin, sample and Impulse Response I buy is money I'll never get back. I have spent far too much money over the years buying stuff (in fairness most of it during sales but still...) purely because I enjoy using new tools as well as old friends to play with and make my "music" with. It's fun, I love it, but that's as far as it goes. You make good calls and good purchases, you make stinker calls and suck purchases. That's the game.
I bought this particular plugin because it suites me personally and helps improves my sound enough to my liking. It also helps improve my workflow because I prefer spending as little time as possible tweaking knobs. The less time I spend tweaking the more time I spend writing the more money I can earn so yes, indirectly this plugin will help me make more money like most of my tools that came before it. And the day I become too cynical about that is the day I quit and do something else. That's how I look at it.
So it was a genuine question - I can imagine buying a plugin like this if I thought I would enjoy using it and could justify spending $200 on that "pleasure" (I can't!). You, on the other hand, have a commercial interest in your investments - will a $200 plugin pay you back directly or indirectly? And I think you answered that very frankly and openly, in that of course the plugin itself won't pay for itself (like anyone who has bought the ELI Arouser for $350 won't suddenly become more in demand or sell more music). But your workflow will improve and allow you to be more productive. I get that, and appreciate your response.

I'm 63 knocking on 64 and I actually didn't start actually to make money from writing until I got laid off from the pharmaceutical manufacturing in 2009 when I decided to dig in with the music. My thought was it's never too late. I'd better do it now and let the chips fall where they may before I really am too old to achieve my dream of writing full time. Anyway, not meaning to hijack the "Punish" thread.Just thought your comment was funny and had to reply to that.

Tried it.
Sincerily I really liked it.
Workflow makes it easy to get to the point pretty fast.
Also appreciate the sound/character of it, v'got his own.
Like said before, atm Audiodeluxe sell it for $168.99.
Still pricy but could worth it if looking for that type of fx.

It's a mastering plugin with a punish knob. I think it's equivalent might be IKMultimedia's Lurssen Mastering Console except Punish works well on individual tracks as well.
I actually have both on my master buss and they will stay there. They are not redundant. Each has it's own sound and they play together very well imo.

Anybody tried it on guitar? I've been looking for a distortion vst to use on synth to get a nice grunge / crunch for polyphonic playing, one that I can tweak with these sorts of variables while playing, but so far the ones I've tried just don't sound as good as the cab sims. I love Trash but like other distortion vsts it just doesn't measure up to Amplitube when used for polyphonic solo distortion.
