just tried it in FL12 and Renoise, works as expected. But it is called LfoFrequency in the parameter list.

thx. yes, i noticed that. maybe it's a problem with Logic. wouldn't surprise me tbh...CymaticCreation wrote:just tried it in FL12 and Renoise, works as expected. But it is called LfoFrequency in the parameter list.

How is that an observation? You don't know how many voices I'm using... unless... Dammit, I knew there were still too many cracks in here unsealed with protective aluminum foil!z.prime wrote:Dude!!! Well, first observation: don't use unison!!! You can get tons of instances without using 8 voice unison on all of them.

The 8 voice panning has become my favorite feature of this synth. Arps are much fun when layered. Try an arp with the voice panning left-right-left -right, then duplicate and reverse and modify a bit. Big warm and wide arps

The voice panning scheme was a hallmark of the Oberheim synths -- obx and xpander both had that feature. It's pretty awesome. You can use the same technique with layering chords for huge wide pads.opoint wrote:The 8 voice panning has become my favorite feature of this synth. Arps are much fun when layered. love this synth. did not enter last competition due to Digits resetting all the patches back to their factory defaults, so I will try to enter this month's. also I find it ironic that Sonicprojects OP-X II Pro vst does not have velocity-loudness mapping while while OB-XD does

Here's My Submission:
https://soundcloud.com/mechanought/mech ... ises-again
Plug-ins used:
48 x OBXD
13 x Nasty VCS
8 x Epic Verb
2 x SlickHDR
1 x ThrillseekerLA
1 x BootEQmkII
1 x NastyDLAmkII
2 x ReaEQ
1 x ReaComp
1 x Shelving Filter JS Plug
1 x ReaVerberate
1 x MIDI Velocity and Timuing Humanizer JS Plug
I wanted to focus on sound design this month, so I decided to go for a score-ish track. Definitely focused on percussion more than usual as well. Wanting to see if I can make a competitive track if I focus on what I think people value in an OSC track. I spent a ton of time on this, a majority of which was just making instruments. I honestly wish I could work on it more, but I've got a VERY busy week coming up so I needed to get it done. CPU was a bit of an issue on this project, which isn't entirely the fault of OBXD. Bootsy VSTs aren't exactly light on the CPU, but I love Bootsy plugs so I just dealt with it. I'm really quite proud of the final product, I hope you all enjoy it.

Well I have done all I can think of (within my limited ability) to improve from last month's entry from me. Sound Cloud recommend the tags #Country and #Bluegrass so it is quite possible this track does not sound like I aimed for it to sound.
Anyway DAW is whatever the Reaper update was last month (I don't upgrade mid project) x64 under Windows 10 x64.
Using DR meter 1.4 (only one I could find) offline on a 16bit render (I usually do 24 bit) I got a DR value of 9. I don't know if that is too low or not. But I see others posting a DR number so was curious what mine was.
52 tracks plus Master track
29 x ReaEQ
28 x OB-Xd
12 x TAL Filter 2
10 x OrilRiver
6 x BlueARP
4 x Xfer OTT
3 x A1StereoControl
3 x Airwindows Density
3 x Airwindows Point
3 x Nova67P
3 x W1 Limiter
2 x GFM Psypan
2 x ReaGate
2 x TAL Reverb III
2 x TP BassLane
2 x Voxengo Tempo Delay
1 x JS: Gonimeter, Luftikus, Nibiru 3, ReaComp, ReaXComp, spcae360, TAL Reverb 2, TDR Kotelnikov, TDR VOS SlickEQ, The Filtermate, ThrillseekerXTC, Voxengo Tube Amp and Voxengo SPAN.
As always any and all feedback that can help me improve is welcome.

Is anybody with me on this? The following DAW effects are NOT allowed:

Effects that pitch the sound (e.g. pitched / granular delays, tapestops etc.)
Very useful and nice effects though.

Yeah I'm not too sure if those effects are allowed or not. I know there's some flexibility with the rules governing effects, but it's usually for things like distortion or saturation. Pitch shifting and changing the harmonics of a sound is definitely in a grey area though. I suppose as long as the effect is subtle, and the sound is still recognizable when A/B'd it should be fine. I'm no expert though, so I'll leave this to more experienced OSCers.RuediRena wrote:Welcome to the contest, Brian. A nice track you made.brijawi wrote:Hi All,
