This was my first time participating and I found it to be a positive
experience. I look forward to participating again. Its ashame that
something like this should leave anyone viewing it in a negative light.

Perhaps people should consider more carefully what they can or cannot
afford to "donate" in the future. I fear too many view it as a means
to acquire software cheaply, rather than the generous charity event that it is
meant to be.

I just heard from my NI contact and they are going to offer Komplete 11 Boxed to resolve it, even though the prize was meant as download only and never as a boxed version and according to my contact it has left them with a bitter taste after seeing how it escalated to the forum, when they were trying their best to find a solution.

To be honest I thought that people were rather gentle comparing it to the standard KVR rant level I'm happy that it is resolved.

So, you should be fair at least! A company that generated the most and they have delivered what they have promised (a license). We should be grateful not going bashing it!!
If you want a box version go buy it! Not coming here and complaining about a company that helped us to raise $1710 for the kids!

FWIW, it doesnt seem to have been an issue that it was only available as a download, per se; the basis of the reported problem was was that a satellite internet connection available to download it wasnt up to the job, for some reason I dont understand, and the sole mooted alternative was a bandwidth-capped wifi connection.

He is being fair. Even though I dont think its the underlying cause of the issue, it is actually perfectly fair to point out that it'll prevent some potential issues by underlining that an item being sold is download only, especially when its 350Gb+ in size.
If you stopped being overdefensive, you'd realise that he's not criticising anyone at all, merely making a sensible, proactive, suggestion.

I didn't make any assumptions, but it seems that the person who made the winning bid did. If it had been made clear it was download only, he has said he would not have made his (fairly substantial) winning bid.

Its also sold boxed. Removing potential ambiguity is good, Im not sure why you would have a problem with that.
