Aarrghh. I couldn't resist starting this thread since I think music equipment is second only to music composing and songwriting. This thread is of course inspired by the "Music software eco-sphere" thread.
So, here are some songwriters and bands that I like, just the ones I remember (without checking my CD/Mp3 collection). In context, the word substantial is of course subjective. Also, I have not Googled to double check anything and so I may be wrong in some cases about what countries the bands/songwriters are factually from.
In my own music collection, for sure I must have not remembered many bands/songwriters from the UK and America and elsewhere but I am pretty sure the UK stuff dominates my music collection and so it's okay if not many software developers are from the UK. No?
