It doesn't matter, the factory drums can be used like any other sample library, it's thought as an extra. Use it in your preferred sampler. If you want to use them within Rapid, they are included in the various drumset multi-samples, selectable within the browser. When the oneshot import feature is added, you will also be able to use them via drag and drop.
Examigan wrote: Also I found where the documentation is, but it's not finished. Any idea when that will be completed?
Yes it's still not complete, but it will be step-by-step in the future. Until now, most of the function are explained through tooltips.
Ok thanks 8)
This available for mac yet Rob?

AFAIK, not yet but they are probably working on that.

I have had a little chance to listen to Rapid the last evenings, always an ongoing process to get to know a synth better when time is short - as well as use it in my last track, albeit supporting sounds - and I have to say the sound quality is extremely good. Often synths do not quite get everything quite right from a pure sound quality perspective and Rapid sounds very good indeed.

A very magical sounding synth.

I grabbed Touch The Universe's sound bank for Rapid and am super impressed. It really shows Rapids fidelity off. Certain this synth will feature more prominently in my tunes. It has a sharpness and clarity which cuts through the mix but can also be very textural and complex sounding at the same time.

Even the filters which I initially thought were overly clean are doing their job well.

For me it is a very precise yet smooth synth, but not so clinical that it sounds glassy or devoid of surprises and a sweetness.

Looks like Rapid is quite a good option for Psy sounds! It'll be interesting to compare Rapid with Avenger once it's released.

I remembered that some people said "RAPID sounds digital and not analog enough". i build a preset in RAPID similar to a preset from Diva. I took the same midis and played booth. So now it is your turn. Whhich demo is RAPID and which one is Diva? :-)

No idea actually. The first one sounded more natural/musical to me, If that's Rapid then I'm happy to own a copy of it.

The filter on the second piece sounds different, but that is most probably just a matter of programming. The filter sounds darker in the second example. Probably has a lower cutoff? Or a less pronounced filter env?

I had to listen to this quite a few times and it's a very subtle difference but, if you listen to the 5th note in the sequence (the highest note) the first one gets a little thinner and quieter. The second one is a little fuller and louder. And I'm sure this is not in my imagination. If you take an analyzer to it and actually view the note, I am positive it will show this graphically.

In short, the 2nd one sounds slightly better on that one note.

The rest of it? I can't tell the difference. But that one high note is glaring. Now, I am not a techie in any way but if I had to guess, I'd say it was that Diva's filters are just "more accurate", "better" however you want to put it.

Having said all that, the difference in overall sound quality is so negligible that either one is acceptable for making music. It's not like one is absolutely amazing and the other is God awful. They're very close.

Most quality synths are.

You will never believe me now but I was going to guess Diva is the second, however it is really really close and yes I am one of those who heard online clips and thought Rapid did sound very digital.
Very interesting.
