Glitch 2, effectrix, almost any of the melda stuff what with the insane modulation system, looperator, bigseq2, and the fruity loops thing that melda rhythmizer is a better version of. Those are all great for imposing rhythm onto sounds where it wasn't before that I didn't notice on your list. It depends on how weird you want to get really. Tantra never really grabbed me as its a bit tame for my liking and really sounds more like you're running your sound through a synth that has MSEGs. I own everything I listed up there except for grossbeat which is the Image Line plugin that I couldn't remember.
All of those are sequenced by the plugin. If you don't mind triggering effects that opens up quite a bit more. The finger from NI is great. Stutter edit is amazing and also has a neat little sound generator function for making little transitions and whatnot. Artillery and turnado are my two favorite effects from sugarbytes. All of these have demos I believe so dig in. I play around with found sounds and foley type recordings a lot so I say the more the merrier when it comes to this. If you need just one to use here and there then definitely demo out some of this stuff. Some aren't super flexible but almost never sound bad. Others are the opposite. All depends on your particular work flow. If I was gonna do just one that is sequenced by the plugin itself I would choose dBlue Glitch 2. It's crazy flexible, The DSP sounds good, and it gets the job done easily, or randomly if you like it like that.

I am looking for the unusual and not so unusual but not glitch or stutter. One of my projects is to add rhythm to a drone track. I do mostly ambient music.

What do you think of Movement($150) by Output.

looks and sounds intersting..

Big seq is awesome. It has really fun generative randomization and polyrhythmic sequencers it's totally worth the (extremely low if I remember correctly) asking price. All those other plugins can do much more than glitch and stutter. Glitch 2 for instance has a multi mode filter per effect so you can set the effect to not do anything and just set each to different settings and then jump between them. It also has the standard trance gate, distortion and bitcrushing for adding texture, and delay for special fun. Also the order of the effects as an be freely rearranged.
Basically there is lots of overlap in most of these products, but you can get a great toolkit for rhythmic effects for way less than the price of output (which I've not tried). Loomer sequent was kind of mild for my taste and a bit expensive.

Edit: it's been a long time since I looked at Sequent. It's not as pricey as I remembered, but the effect selection is still a bit vanilla. The modular routing is cool though. For the price of output you could get Glitch and Sequent.

I still think big seq and glitch would be your best bet for what you want. Also you could play with Sonic Charge permut8. It's got a silly GUI and is very digital and wacky, but that character makes it really stand out. It can do lots of common and uncommon effects and do them all rhythmically. Definitely worth a demo.

Liquid Rhythm is a tool to help you build drum parts. It is not the same as the other plugins you've been looking at.

Tantra! Dimitry Sches have done a wonderful job with it. It is on sale for $49 at the moment. What surprised me the most with Tantra is the sweet sounding reverb, the ease of use, and the number of effects included. It just sound amazing

Tantra is high on my list.
Spend the money and Get the $69 package with
the Factory Expansion 1, 2 and 3?

Sound sets? Do I need them? I will be using my
own audio track. Yes can use the presets.

Normally when I buy a synth or creative kind of plug I also go for expansions or presets for the simple reason that I study them carefully, as a part of learning how the plugin works. After a while I will know everything I need to know to have full control over the plugin. Presets are also a good platform so that if you find a preset that is 80% of what you are looking for, then you just do the 20% tweaking until you have the result you want.

I mostly produce progressive trance, some house and some old fashion synth music like Vangelis old stuff. I just got Tantra yesterday and I was blown out of the water of what this thing can do. It is the perfect plugin for progressive, dance, house, etc. I can also see it being very useful for ambient music.

I can tell that the developer must have spent a great deal of time on the sound effects in Tantra. When I compare the sound quality of those effects they are up to par with other well known standalone effects. For me Tantra brought a new sound to my tracks. So far I mostly been using presets but I started to tweak them as well.

Sorry if I sound like a total fan boy

...but Tantra really is way over what I expected it to be. There is a demo and you should try it. You might agree with me ..or not. Who knows.

I too would recommend the demo of Tantra. Make sure to keep an eye on CPU usage. It can be a greedy plugin. Fantastic-sounding tho.
