So far the kits sound fine over here - at least to my ears.
Actually, I don't think anything is actually "resampled" - it's just that samplers are able to play back any sample rate while hosts aren't.
But I'm gonna give it a try anyways.
Early hardware samplers worked this way - just read the sample clock slower or faster to pitch up or down but all software samplers have to output at the songs sample rate - this means they generate a completely new set of samples using interpolation for even a 1 Cent pitch shift.

The quality/resolution of this interpolation is what you are adjusting with the quality levels in SFZ. If you aren't trying to do it in realtime you can apply incredibly high resolution interpolation - which is what R8Brain does on max quality.

SFZ repitches or adjusts sample rates way better than EXS24 or Kontakt and R8Brain will do it better again.

These Kits sound lovely.
Awesome work!
Thanks.

Is there any chance of getting the MIDI files for the demos on the site?

That would be brilliant.

Another thanks from me, Mike. I'm sure I'll be making use of these in the near future.

I'm sure it would be. But I'm using such heavily customized versions of the kits that it might prove too difficult. Also, the mixdowns are heavily plugin dependent and everybody would need to have the same set of plugins. It's just not possible. Sorry.

For those wondering about the sample resampling bit: yes, all samplers do it automatically, but with EXS/kontakt/halion the quality is less than ideal. The newest properly bandlimited samplers might do it a lot better.

For the rest of us, r8brain is our friend. It's simply superior.

Yeah, I tried downloading the sf2 version and it was messed up. The mapping was goofed and the velocity layers sounded wrong. Redownloaded and got the same result in both SFZ+ and Jeskola XS1.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

thank you, can we please get a proper update?

Thanks

Funny, it worked just fine in logic.

I don't think I can do any better. I'm no SF2 expert.

Uh, did you read the documentation? This isn't a GM drum map (unless you use my sfz mapping ;-)) and it's recorded and played "as is".
