I understand holding to some standards, but is version 1 and if purchased at sale price, it is ridiculous how good this sounds for the money spent. Looking forward to updates to fix issues. Just using in gadget right now. Gadgets sequencer is pretty basic, but has some cool features too. Some of the in app purchase instruments are a tad on the high price side, but really a lot of options for variety of sounds.
Oddysei and Model 15 just raising the bar on sound quality is a good start.
I'm used to mixing in one iOS synth on midi channel 8 with my hardware gear set to various other midi channels and all sequenced by my mv8800 sampler/sequencer. iOS softsynths, even before these two, sit well mixed in with mother 32's, virus Ti2, blofeld, minibrute, modular, etc.
Sometimes get sick of sitting down on the big desk and will hook up a portable system out of circuit, ipad, some smaller tabletop synths. Gadget scales it down further for me by just "in the pad" music
New Korg app .... 'Odyssei' ... also 'Lexington' Gadget add-on

I see it similar like DayvanCowboy.Wormhelmet wrote:I understand holding to some standards, but is version 1 and if purchased at sale price, it is ridiculous how good this sounds for the money spent. There are some pretty lame things i wouldn´t expect for Korg. The price is good, yes but i get some desktop plug-ins for even less and with much more patches too.
IOS apps are not always such a bargain if you look deeper and see what they offer (or not).
I still would give it 3 stars but that´s it!

The App Store rating reflect my grievances too. It's 3 1/2 stars when it should be a solid 5 stars.
It's bad project management by Korg, to invest significant resources in outstanding synth engine, comprehensive featureset (Step Seq for parameters) and then mess everything up with an ATROCIOUS midi implementation, patch management etc.
I'm beginning to fear that Gadget bears some responsibilities for this problem. In promoting Gadget over seamless integration via AU or at least IAA Korg Synths are suffering. Gadget is a nice shiny toy, that get's annoying real quick when you work with external midi controllers or expect a decent reverb.
