Im new to this but it seems great! so i have just a couple of questions :

1 - is there a "line" tool to draw in straight lines on the Velocity stalks in the piano roll for snare rolls etc?

2 - is there a way of getting the snap down to a finer resolution when you zoom right in on the piano roll? - i know there is one setting where you can snap to a finer resolution but what about when you go all the way in and want to paint notes in on a much finer scale? they snap to either half bar/or bar?! - also where is the quantize setting etc?

3 - Also while im working through Ableton live 4, is there a way of getting the Metronome to pre-count before i start recording Midi etc? say 1 bar or 2 bars?

Cheers guys :help:

1. Nope... Drawing the lines manually adds to the human feel of things anyways, though. I've come to like it. A blessing in disguise.

2. As you zoom in on the notes, use CTRL+1 to make the grid smaller (higher resolution) and CTRL+2 to make it large (lower resolution).

3. Again, no. This is a feature I think Live 4 is SERIOUSLY lacking. Considering the fact that it is a very viable multitrack solution, it should definatly have a precount.

3. You can click the button on toolbar that disables recording until reached certain position (e.g. loop points), and then just start recording process a bit earlier.

3. arm midi track, set global quantize to "Bar", press play, and just after the "one" beat click the clips record activation and it will sart recording at the next "one" beat.

hope that made sense (Ive been working all day and am very tired)
Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good
