You cannot extrapolate your own use of a linux distribution, which is a function of your skills and knowledge, and frankly, not even 100% open source, to a fact about open source. That doesn't mean that open source or linux is developed slowly or fails to meet the needs of others. Including even, for music. I have a good friend that is 100% linux for everything. He uses linux for music and is reasonably happy with it. His needs and expectations are very different from your, and frankly, from most musicians.chk071 wrote:What facts would you like to hear? I use Ubuntu, Mint, and other derviates since 2007. I can present you my "experience". On different computers. I don't think that's an opinion. It's pretty much a fact that Ubuntu and others haven't worked here, as other OS's do.ghettosynth wrote:You haven't presented any "facts."chk071 wrote:And i must say that it is very annoying (once again) how people dismiss facts,Klinke wrote: Overall I must say it's annoying how you avoid to answer questions.
You shouldn't really use Ubuntu or Mint, they aren't going to work well for you because you have consumer focused, yet vertically oriented, needs and expectations. Unless you happen to be in one of the verticals where Linux is stronger, you're just going to work too hard and be disappointed.
As I said, you haven't presented any "facts."
