I literally had not 1 single issue with Rapid. Awesome synth, runs awesome, smooth and great content (already, and more to come). So, with the bugs, content issues (server overload? 403..whatever), stuck notes,,,how is this better so far?Soundplex wrote:I think I'm one of the lucky onesDownloaded it a couple hours ago with no problems.
But I can confirm that the ui does something wrong. TBH I don't care if a plugin "runs ultra smoothly in 60hz" if it can only achieve this with overloading my (no so bad) graphics card.
Also had 1 crash while resizing with the bottom right corner handle and 2 crahs when opening the editor. Both with Cubase.
Soundwise it is not bad. I have to dig deeper into it to get some cool sounds. But as always this is no miracle synth that can make everything sound good. Manuels demos were good because it was ManuelHe knows what he is doing and therefore it was looking pretty easy and smooth in the videos. In reality it's a bit harder.
One bug I sometimes had was stucking notes. I double checked if I accidently drew 2 notes or something like that but it was okay. I was playing with the modulators in parallel so maybe there was something wrong with that.
This one is way better than Parawave Rapid but it got a bit overhyped if one sees the bug reports, errors and missing features now. Just a friendly reminder to the ones that would buy it blind
Nice job anyway!
*edit* haven't demo it btw. Just started the download...

ok I might have a solution for the Laptops with bad/old graphic cards. I could imagine an ECO mode, being turned on on the SYS page, which will have half framerate etc...TBH I don't care if a plugin "runs ultra smoothly in 60hz"

You have Arcsyn and Serum Wags, both have Hz readout.wagtunes wrote:
Also, I don't know of one synth that reads out a comb filter in Hz. At least none that I have or am aware is capable of doing.
I must admit having the readout can be very useful indeed.

Well Falcon reads combfilter hertz (and all other filters), Serum does, Alchemy does, a lot of them do, percentage doesn't help at all, only ears do int his case.wagtunes wrote:Simon, I don't know if this will help you but the readout for the filters are the bottom in percent when you turn the knob. I don't know where 261,6 Hz falls between 0 and 100% but if you have some way of doing the calculation (I'm assuming you know comb filter values) then you can do the conversion based on the percent between 0 and 100%.Sampleconstruct wrote:The filters have no frequency readout? So if I want to enter a precise frequency in hertz e.g. for setting up a tuned combfilter, how is that going to happen - I need 261.6 Hz please, not just a knob.
Does that make sense?

Hi. Downloaded and working Ok.. BUT.. I have a real problem on the GUI. Using it in Reaper with my 27'' monitor at 1080p... I CANNOT read the synth options... First time I opened the synth was HUGE and the keyboard at the botton was not visible. I resized it (can't remember exactly how), but now.. just a little smaller.. it became unreadable... any similar situation around ?

It's not a bad or old graphic card, it's the latest in a new Mac Pro.msvs wrote:ok I might have a solution for the Laptops with bad/old graphic cards. I'm running a quad core i7 mac mini (intel gfx), until Apple pull their finger out with a new quad-core option, that's what I'm stuck withmsvs wrote:ok I might have a solution for the Laptops with bad/old graphic cards. Guess a few peeps have a similar setup.
NB) My fan speed appears relative to GUI size.

Yes, this would be great, too! But there's definelty some optimizing work for the dev because my graphics card is also not a bad onemsvs wrote:ok I might have a solution for the Laptops with bad/old graphic cards. I must say that I am Amazed at the issues coming along with what I am reading.... I used the last beta dated 08 November 2016 that was before the release candidate version.. Somehow I was overlooked on the last updated versions during beta testing so I can't comment on the Released version nor can I help with troubleshooting and advice as I don't have the latest vesion.. but what I can say is that I had many great hours with this synth and it is great! Not one hassle, no hitches and Cpu usage was great! The sound quality is excellent!! I wish I could assist but unfortunately I am limited and so my advice would be irrelevant anyway.. and no I wont be buying Avenger. . I simply can't afford it.

Thanks Simon. This isn't something I've ever noticed. I do all my comb filter adjustments by ear. In fact, I do all my filter adjustments by ear. Always have since the stone ages.Sampleconstruct wrote:Well Falcon reads combfilter hertz (and all other filters), Serum does, Alchemy does, a lot of them do, percentage doesn't help at all, only ears do int his case.wagtunes wrote:Simon, I don't know if this will help you but the readout for the filters are the bottom in percent when you turn the knob. Sustain pedal anyone? Stepped through some factory sounds after my own patches didn't respond to the pedal and they don't respond either, what am I doing wrong? Can't find the appropriate entry in the matrix and it should be on by default really.

I guess it's not the end of the world, this synth was 3 years in the making, a couple more days to wait for everything working smooth won't harm anyone right?echopark wrote:I give up !![]()

I also had the very last beta version and it was flawless. So I'm thinking either something got terribly messed up in 1.0.21 (I haven't installed it yet) or these are isolated incidents.surreal wrote:I must say that I am Amazed at the issues coming along with what I am reading.... I agree, but because it was 3 years in development it's a shame that this start leaves a bit of a headache2ZrgE wrote:I guess it's not the end of the world, this synth was 3 years in the making, a couple more days to wait for everything working smooth won't harm anyone right?echopark wrote:I give up !![]()
