Well, for me, both are great for different reasons. I'm glad I own Rapid and Avenger.

You're writing this like it is a fact. You may find that it is overpriced. I think otherwise. And i am having a blast with the synth, unlike with Avenger (which was crashingSoundplex wrote:I was but I declined because I think this a weird and unfair strategy to other customersrecursive one wrote:I guess, you weren't in the Parawave's listSoundplex wrote: overpricedPredictably, they alienated many people with their weird pricing policy.
And even if I would have used the discount, the product is still overpriced to all others

Thanks! Parallel filter routing? I tried in the routing section but they are always serial, there must be a way, the manual hasn't enlightened me yet.wagtunes wrote:Actually, all you need to do is drag the modulator to the function you want to modulate, i.e. LFO1 to Filter Cutoff. A slot will automatically appear in the matrix that you can fine tune the amount of modulation to.Sampleconstruct wrote:Right clicking on a knob to add a modulator is pretty standard nowadays, so in AV everything has to be done via the matrix I guess - tedious.

It was not only me thinking that it's overpriced. Just scroll through the rapid thread. Besides wagtunes (which pretty obviously wrote that on several pages) there were a dozen others... And were talking about a high price for a no-name product. A dev with no references and a feature roadmap that may or may not come...exmatproton wrote:You're writing this like it is a fact. Of course I also wanted to wait for the Avenger demo since the rapid discount was more a "buy it now before Avenger got released"-worry discount imo.

Well, surely that isn't making it a fact. Cause i think otherwise. Which is ofcourse proof of it being a false statement (and i am sure some others will agree with me). But you seem colored against Rapid, so it is like talking to a wall about this with you. Let's just agree we think different about these 2 synths and leave it there.Soundplex wrote:It was not only me thinking that it's overpriced. Just scroll through the rapid thread. That would be fantastic. I'd like to mirror what someone else here said - in my case my laptop's graphics card is not old - I'm running two modern higher end laptops. And while the graphics cards aren't anything but on-board chips, they're certainly capable.msvs wrote:ok I might have a solution for the Laptops with bad/old graphic cards. I could imagine an ECO mode, being turned on on the SYS page, which will have half framerate etc...TBH I don't care if a plugin "runs ultra smoothly in 60hz"
I suspect halving the framerate will be good for CPU usage as well. Possibly...
Finally, I must also give my thanks here for your generosity with your time here on KVR. You've been exceptional, and that gives me nice warm feelings about having bought a great synth from a great company. Cheers!

In the sys panel .Sampleconstruct wrote:Sustain pedal anyone? Stepped through some factory sounds after my own patches didn't respond to the pedal and they don't respond either, what am I doing wrong? Can't find the appropriate entry in the matrix and it should be on by default really.

At the official Avanger downloads page a link with a download for 78 of my own wavetables is included in the "free sounds 6 content" section:
http://vengeance-sound.com/plugins.php? ... =DOWNLOADS
Those are wavetables originally created in Icarus and then imported (with "Resample") and re-saved in the Avenger wavetable format.
The downlaod includes a single *.avangercontent file (the factory content has the same format).
To install this on Windows (i am using Win 10 64-bit here) you have to start the host without administrator rights (this is an option when starting certain programs), start the plugin and add the file to the GUI via drag&drop from the Windows Explorer. A dialog box will apear concerning teh import.
If this is finished the wavetables should appear in the Samples/waveforms/wavetables drop-down menu as "Wavetables Ingo Weidner v1".

I must say, Rapid caught me by surprise. Fanboy seems a bit too big, for what it is (i am a Oddity2 fanboy for instance), but yeah..it is working really fast, great audio quality (not that light on the CPU though) and huge WT parts (indeed, up to 10,000 slices, which is awesome). Very smooth experience for me. Avenger is the other way around though.Soundplex wrote:Yeah we think different since on the other hand you seem to be a fanboyI tested both and I had a bug list with Rapid, too. Just take a look at the thread. I had interest in it from the beginning but then the dev's attitude started sucking, the pricing policy was weird, there was not even a mac version, ... I agree that this also left a headache to me. But with Vengeance I know that they will fix all of it and they will work on this synth.
On the other hand, i know Vengeance, and i know they will fix this release. However, judging this synth by the demo (that is what a demo is for), it isn't a smooth experience at all. So (in my case, that is) i am glad i went for Rapid.

msvs,
I have every single one of the Vengeance plugins, I appreciate all your efforts and use your stuff all the time.
I've been asking the same questions in this thread 4 times, you seem to elegantly ignore me each and every time.
but it feels wrong to me - if you deem my question to be so illegitimate, perhaps you shouldn't have allowed this in the first place?
You said somewhere that you allow 3 installations/activations per user.
I asked how do I go and install the plugin on 2 or 3 computers, if the key I receive after the activation turns "dead" after the synth calls home to verify the computer.
Is it indeed a possibility? what's the procedure?
I was kinda hoping for an eLicenser, because it makes it easy for me to take my software with me to my other studio. also with many iLok plugins I'm entitled for 2 or 3 activations for those very reasons... also software with C\R like Sylenth1 (nowadays) allows 2 activations.
So, I understand that you do allow this, but can you please elaborate, how?
Thank you very much in advance.

Only 4 LFOs seems strange for a synth with so many oscillators and possible modulation targets, I guess one will have to abuse some of the other modulators to behave like LFOs then.
I'm not convinced at all yet, the wavetabling, resynthesis and wavebending/shaping part is quite advanced, the whole sample aspect and multi-sample import hassle is a big downer, some of the filters are really good, the modulation system is so so, the entire experience is everything else than wowing me and the bugs and crashes are nagging. But maybe time will tell...
