Mac OS X Sierra over here. The AU version shows up in Reaper but says "the following effect plug-in could not be loaded". Couldn't get it to pop up at all in Renoise. This library seems to be the culprit:ru2b12 wrote:Youlean Loudness Meter doesn't pass au validation in Digital Performer 9 nor Logic Pro 10.2.4.
Empty plugin window in Hosting AU.
Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

So many cool tools with this years Developer Challenge.
HOWEVER... two things stand out to me that kind of annoy me:
1) why is the BEAT Magazine part of the challenge with a sample set for their BEAT OWN Zampler, and why do they write "more on their magazine discs"?! This feels kind of like a slap in the face. Especially if they'll get into the top tiers.
2) Not that I don't like stuff by Wavesfactory, but wasn't there a Kontakt freebie years ago from whomever that did exactly that?!
In fact - it was from Wavesfactory themselves! viewtopic.php?t=380147
But it looks like the discarded that sample set, the same as they discarded their Tea Towel Drums!
Other than that, a lot of guitar related material, delays... and another ITU-R spec type meter (dunno if that's good or bad yet)... so I'll definitely pay extra attention to THAT tool - if I can even start it up. Because this is the most annoying part with the DC - broken plugins and catching up on updates (which automatically means - less points).
Why can't we give 7 to 10 points this year at this amount of entries?

On second look - a lot(!) of standalone tools in DC2016 that need loopback devices, and the hi-gain guitar pedal needs the JAVA Runtime...

EDIT:
Not only that, A LOT of plugins are 32bit only, yet no mention of them being 32bit... looks like the field is thinning out really quick this year.

Biggest surprise: not one but two entries have red-haired witches in the GUI.

Anyone able to get the kontakt microtuner file to load? It does nothing here in Kontakt V5.5.2

A couple or three Windows plugins reported msvcp140d.dll missing; installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package fixed it.

Agreed, as per the competition rules, these two entries should be discarded.Compyfox wrote:So many cool tools with this years Developer Challenge.

Your entry must be an original creation made by you (your team / crew / company / family). Of course you may reuse code / modules / development frameworks, but the actual plug-in / application / sound library should be a new, original creation, not just an obviously cut-down subset of a program you have already written.

I think you meant the 2015 redist? Or did you have to install the 2010 also?Pytchblend wrote:A couple or three Windows plugins reported msvcp140d.dll missing; installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package fixed it.
