The Vengeance Avenger finally got released today http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6632479. Just for the ones that liked to compare both or the ones that won't spend that much money for Rapid
But be aware of some day 1 bugs. They will be released the next hours I think.

+1exmatproton wrote:"The layer copy/paste works between different plugin instances! " nice one!parawave wrote:Yes, this is a valid and good request, but let me explain a problematic thing. If you save a preset, you save all 8 layers. Now if you theoretically want to load that presets, let's say into layer 3, you first have to select a preset file and then additionally select the layer to import. That would require some sort of dialog. In my opinion a bit unnecessary, because there is already an alternative way. What I personally do is this:tatanka wrote:But for this use I would need the possibility to load ANOTHER preset into layer 2 (in the demo, later on of course into the other layers too) and could not figure that out.
Just open two Rapid instances, one to build your new patch, and one to quickly browse/preview files.
The layer copy/paste works between different plugin instances! This is important, because you can easily browse different patches, choose a layer you like and copy it into another instances layer.
This also works for all other copy/paste things. Hope that helps!

Me, too. Avenger sounds cold and digital. Also the CPU usage is totally high.exmatproton wrote:I tried this:MirkoVanHauten wrote:The Vengeance Avenger finally got released today http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6632479. What does "totally high" even mean? And I don't think Rapid's CPU usage is higher than any other high end synth.themerx wrote:Me, too. Avenger sounds cold and digital. Hi,
I've bought RAPID Synthesizer this morning, now I'm downloading required files from my account (Purchased Products page).
However, I need some explanations about "Factory Sounds Drums" (31.8 MB zip package), because it's not mentionned for the installation process, the current process only mentions:
- Factory Sounds installation as first step.
- VSTi plugin (32-bit & 64-bit) installation as second (and last) step.
...but nothing are metionned about "Factory Sounds Drums".
Is it a forgot? an update? or this package is useless?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Dominique.

I purchased RAPID and AVENGER.
AVENGER looks better than RAPID, but I like RAPID.
If I did not buy AVENGER, I could not understand it.
"looks good" "high functionality" is not important.
I love RAPID.'s beautiful workflow and powerful sound.

Does Rapid have the huge variety of morphing types that Icarus and Serum have? (not sure about Avenger yet)

They explained it on their release page. Those are just wav files they used to multisample the drumkits which are installed with the Factory Sounds installation package. So one could use those drumsounds apart from the synth, which is neat.docam28 wrote:Hi,

Not thinking about wavetable steps but sound morphing - Is that all?exmatproton wrote:10,000 steps in the wavetables, pm, rm, am, pw, chaos, tubeaMUSEd wrote:Does Rapid have the huge variety of morphing types that Icarus and Serum have? (not sure about Avenger yet)

Yes, that's all. They also promised "more advanced FM operators" which I'm eagerly waiting but I guess it won't happen soon.aMUSEd wrote:Not thinking about wavetable steps but sound morphing - Is that all?exmatproton wrote:10,000 steps in the wavetables, pm, rm, am, pw, chaos, tubeaMUSEd wrote:Does Rapid have the huge variety of morphing types that Icarus and Serum have? Meanwhile you may use very fast LFOs with complex shapes to modulate pitch, wt position or other osc controls which offers huge possibilities for designing various unusual sounds (e.g. metallic FM-like stuff).

I forgot about hard sync and noise generator. But yeah, that's it. And those 10,000 steps are, imho, the main attraction. Such a smooth experience. I love it.aMUSEd wrote:Not thinking about wavetable steps but sound morphing - Is that all?exmatproton wrote:10,000 steps in the wavetables, pm, rm, am, pw, chaos, tubeaMUSEd wrote:Does Rapid have the huge variety of morphing types that Icarus and Serum have? It is no Icarus, but it has way more options compared to (for instance) Nave
Here are 4 presets i did. Simple, but fun (imho). I like the workflow on this thing very much.
1 instance per preset, no external FX.
