Request:
Don't add new blockbuster features, speed it up and reduce bugs instead.
-hardware rescan, improve render in place times, improve loading time
-remove the dongle so I can use Cubase "on the go" without fear of breaking/losing it.

Not paid for features! Should be in 8.5.30.Penelope wrote:Request:

I expect a couple of wow features, a few so-whats, and a heap of interesting new bugs. Fortunately, I can't afford to update right now, so hopefully most of the new bugs will be fixed in 9.10.

That's one weird and oddly appealing video, not seen it before or heard the song. Love it. Thanks for postingSynapse2k wrote:He's another one who got the stretcher. Someone nabbed 'is toons. Dopple.

So it seems the December 1 prediction for the release of Cubase 9
has failed or will fail in a few hours.
So what is the next prediction?

The last 4 releases have been on December 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, with the 2nd for the latest release. One could see a pattern here and predict this year will be on the 1st, but all previous dates have also been on Wednesday. So I predict either tomorrow (not likely) or December 7th.

Personally I don't get this hush hush over releases and dates. Otherwise you make people hesitate in investing.
What about folks that happends to purchase Cubase at october 14th, very common grace period start minus one day?
Microsoft announced Xbox Scorpio 18 months or so in advance - and what is the problem with that. I see none.
Sony announced Playstation Neo/Pro 6 months in advance, even not saying release date until september, two months in advance.
Last year there were a guy in netherlands announcing a seminar he was to have on Cubase 8.5 dec 18th, this was two months or so in advance. He had to shut that down, and not mention to talk about Cubase 8.5 at all. And we know that Steinberg released Cubase dec 2nd or so - so what is the purpose of this holding back on info.
Is it - WE ARE BIG - WE CONTROL EVERYTHING?
I certainly don't get it.
For me it means planning my internet bandwidth. Last year download was 9.5Gbyte which is half my monthly bandwidth. So I had to cut down on most things online in december due to this.
I mean, they cause problems for people not letting us plan ahead.

Thanks Guillermo. But apart from the specifics relating to version 9, can you confirm the following? Suppose I got a grace period update (e.g. buying a Cubase Artist 7 or 8 license, and then having already gotten a grace period update to either 7.5 or 8.5), if I then buy an upgrade to the Pro version and activate it during a grace period, will I then get a grace period to the next major version (ie to cubase Pro 9 if I was already on artist 8.5).Guillermo Navarrete wrote:Hello,
I cannot confirm nor deny that information until Cubase Pro 9 has been officially announced together with the official Grace Period Policies...maschinelf wrote:Thanks for the reply Bob! Hopefully Guillermo can confirm this too.
Best regards,
GN
Reason I ask is because I remember reading something about a grace period only being applicable once per cycle, but can no longer find that info. TIA!

Hello,

I really don't get the whole thing, what version do you currently have, and what update are you planning to purchase and did you received a Grace period already?maschinelf wrote:Thanks Guillermo. Look at the developers of Avenger. They communicate.
How about Nora and a few others. They communicate features or release date.
Personally I like people and companies that communicate.
What do they have loose?
Loose their coolness?

With the huge amount of talk here of using the grace period to skip versions, I could see them pulling it or shortening the timeframe or just going to a decision per account situation.
C9 will arrive when it arrives. I suspected 1st of Dec based on past releases, but as Cib mentioned they've always released on a Wednesday. That said, It is rather safe to say it will be released between now and January 1st. So less than a month away.
stress less.
