There are 50,000 DX7 patches out there....fifty of which are worth saving. :P

Here's the bank of 32 patches that were in my TX7 when I sold it. Sold my DX7 several years earlier. Not a "best of bank" but some of my favorites at the time including some original patches.

My pleasure. The "3 Bottles" patch came from a patch sheet in a magazine Yamaha sent out once a month or so and was hand entered into my DX7. Ahhh the "good" old days. :hihi: Harmonixx and Organicus and few more are mine and not found in other collections......

Out of a desire for nostalgia I spent a couple of hours with Dexed today going through the "All The Web" sysex collection looking for some gems.

Does anyone know what's the best way to save individual patches then fill up a bank to make it a "Cartridge" to use in Dexed ? I tried saving individual patches in .fxp format from a DAW but they won't load back up in the proper slots. I must be missing something so how does everyone else do it ? :)

Just copy a random cartridge (as a file) and then use this copy to drag (using the cart window) all the programs you want into this new cartridge... Or maybe I didn't understood the question.

I should do some youtube video to show how this stuff works... And I should also add a button to create an empty init cartridge. :ud:

Ahh that's it ! Thanks, I didn't know we could drag and drop from the cart window. Brilliant. :D

When I get a Cart loaded I'll post it here. Is there already a Blank or Init Cart somewhere ?

Here's an INIT bank. :)

Oh and the free Sanford Reverb goes really well with Dexed. Add your favorite Delay and Chorus and you've pretty much got a Yamaha SPX90 which is what I used to run my DX/TX through back in the day. Very period correct. :hihi:

EDIT: I found an INIT Patch so I created a new INIT Bank using it.

Simply here in the last paragraph of this section "Cartridge manager" on Dexed's website:

The most comprehensive collection you could ever dream. And without any dupes.

Read the "Readme" file which is included in its root. It explains what it contains and how I made this compilation.

Yes there are 50k presets can be found easily but they are not so good. Well. depends on taste of course.

Thanks ! They were some of my favorite DX sounds of the day.

Yes wading through the giant collection of DX patches is rather tiring. For every keeper you have to wade through a thousand Bass 01, Bass 02 etc....... :hihi:

I love this VST for me the best DX7 emulation, but the only thing I miss is a way to organize the banks, to be able to delete, move and rename in an easy way would be perfect

Do you still have the 32 patches from your TX7? I have a DX7 with those 32 patches loaded in 3 bottles, Mermaids, Polymoog etc. I recently lost the sounds and now can't find the same patch list anywhere! I think they originally came from here. Do you still have the 32 you selected?

Your quote is a bit confusing but I think you're asking for the .syx file.
