Pro Tools 10 and Creative X-Fi USB problem (OSX Mavericks)

Hi all,
I haven't posted in a while, but as per usual I always remember the great community here when I encounter a problem I can't solve myself.
So here it is - I'm having a weird problem with Pro Tools 10 I/O with Creative X-Fi usb. For some reason I can't use the card as input as long as I'm using it as output and vice versa. The problem comes from OSX I think, because for every change I need to choose it as a new device. And the input is listed separately of the output - both as 2 different devices! I have a Lexicon Omega with 8 inputs, 4 buses, and 2 outputs as well, however I haven't tried it yet. I'm afraid if I'll encounter the same error, so I decided to post here first. As you can probably figure out already - I have a fresh install of PT 10 and (yes, I know it's already old) a fresh install of Mavericks. So I'm still finding my way. And because some of you might ask - I am doing it to emulate as close as possible the software environment in the studio I work at. Of course we have way more advanced sound processors than what I personally own, but still.
If needed I can provide some screenshots. So please, help me once again!
