Nearly forgotten nowadays, superstars in the late ´60s/early ´70s ...

But they really did Prog Rock in their early recordings until ´72. And they were the real pioneers using the Mellotron as a main instrument. Mike Pinder worked for the english Mellotron developing/building company ´Streetly Electronics´ before he got group member of the Moody Blues.

I love their music still today. 8)

... and not to forget: They made the first concept album in the rock music ever including a symphony orchestra (Days of Future Past, incl. Nights in white satin).

Damn good live too. Always been one of my favourites.
Strange they haven't actually influenced my own style of writing, not conciously anyway, maybe I should try something...

Ahhhh God Bless The Brummies!

:)

I loved Night in White Satin, the song. Other people have done nice versions too, since.

Never been overly keen on the albums tho...dunno why. Even in my prog-rock-luvvin days.

Maybe I ought to go seek them out again.
