Lots of (Open)GL and GeForce mentioned in this log-file...

I have set GUI to 60%.
Experiencing way less fan noise and also, with this GUI size, Avenger hasn't crashed yet for a few hours.
Tested in Reaper / Live / Logic Pro X, all latest versions , 64bit.

OSX 10.12.1
Macbook Retina 2015.

It seems that most issues are on OSX.

Anyone already used Avenger for Glitch sounds design, like bleeps, weird zaps, whooshes etc etc ?

I guess Avenger has lots of power to establish these sounds but would be nice if someone
already has experience with succesful creating these type of sounds in Avenger.

Here is a rather heavy distorted patch layering an e-bow scape with itself (different root notes and starting point) in 2 oscillators, oscillator 3/4 add animated/arpeggiated synth waves.

Something similar here. Opened one of my presets and the only step sequence was missing as well as the routing showed just "#ERROR".
Also again with another preset there was a loud crack and since then Avenger produced no sound. Had to unload and reload it but then the editor was just a big white rect.
While switching presets it crashed random, too.

This isn't funny anymore. I probably not going to touch it again till next year and take a look at other stuff I'd spend my money on. I hope there will be a stable version then. Long time of development and it feels they still released a beta :x

Keppada wrote:So is avenger gonna be the "next thing"? I recently started learning producing, currently learning omnisphere 2 and Serum. Is there any big advantages in Avenger over these 2 synths?
Next thing? Definitley no. It lacks lots of features present in Alchemy for example.

For coming up with absolute unique wavetables, Serum is the most advanced wavetable synth on the market. Also the import is as fast as drag and drop (audio files, images).

Omnisphere is an endless resource of sounds, the library is immense and the mangling is neverending.

Avenger is an allrounder with many gaps (no parallel routings, very limited sample editing, no round robin as sampler, no drag and drop for stacking, no FX version) - mainly because the dev does not want to cannibalize it's own other products (the fx suites, Phalanx etc.). I think this one was released one year too early.

Soundwise, Avenger does exactly what other synths can too (although I don't think it can beat Diva for instance, for huge and dense sounds). This synth ahould just improve the workflow a little bit.

Resource-wise, it's a lottery: for many it works, for some it blows the GPU.

At this point I see Serum and Omnisphere as the plugins I may use to build sounds for Avenger.

Every time I open a new instance of AV, I have to go to the SYS page to activate the sustain pedal, could this be a global preference please, not per instance.

Hello

I got strange behavior of ARP in Avenger, the notes are not quantize on grind correctly, sometimes it go forward sometime backward and sometimes it trigger, midi note what is not supposed to be there like flam...., i got shuffle parameter on 0%, and i using basic ARP set up with 4 notes in row without any changes in timing or velocity.

Doing this even with more complex arpeggios.

No filtering, no Fx, clean saw from avenger.

not very performant, but at least i should be able to see something.

inserting avenger all i see is a blank gui. cpu going up to 15%, but blank gui. UI mode however shoes all parameters. any idea? much appreciated..
I posted a few pages back about the same issue. Sent email to support, nothing back after a day. This happens in all hosts I've tried. Spent 3 hours on it so far to no avail. Will be seeking a refund if no help comes soon.

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed this.

Yes, my identical request still stands as well. So.. bump!

Why have it deactivated by default in the first place? That's just crazy. Thought it was bad enough that Rapid doesn't even support sustain but I put that down to inexperience, beginning to wonder now if this isn't a trend but if it is then it needs resisting, do people that actually play keyboards design these things or what?

When ArcSyn was still in Beta I had to persuade the dev to implement it, he didn't even know what I was talking about at first.

Simon (Sampleconstruct), I confirm I've the same issue too, normally it's a global preference, correctly saved to "config.xml" (stored into C:\ProgramData\Vengeance\VPS Avenger folder), the "UseSustainPedal" value isn't recalled correctly on new Avenger instance, seems to be a bug...

I've seen (in your YT videos) your platform is MacOS X.

My platform is Windows 7 SP1 x64 (French), I'm using Avenger v1.0.22 (registered version) as x64 VSTi or x64 VST3i. DAW is REAPER v5.29 (x64), also tested on Ableton Live 9.6 Lite (VSTi) having same issue.

config.xml content:

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<Avenger>
<A_Tune value="440.0" />
<ActiveExpansion value="" />
<AskOnSendFXDelete value="true" />
<AutoEnableSequencer value="true" />
<BrowserFileSort value="0" />
<BrowserNumExpansions value="2" />
<ContentLocation value="C:/ProgramData/Vengeance/VPS Avenger/" />
<DKModeMidiOff value="true" />
<DefaultMCA value="" />
<DefaultPreset value="" />
<GlobalTranspose value="0" />
<LastDrumKit value="#ID#763165/drumkits/Drum n Bass.avdk" />
<LastMCAFile value="" />
<LastPreset value="#ID#1061316868/presets/Organ/OR Basic Organ.avgr" />
<LastSequence value="#ID#763165/drumsq/Drum n Bass.avsq" />
<MasterGain value="-3dB" />
<PreviewDrumkitSlot value="true" />
<PreviewDrumkitSlot_SelectSlot value="false" />
<ShowToolTip value="true" />
<UseSustainPedal value="true" />
</Avenger>

Simon, I'm loving your "Valley Pad", great! :clap:
