when it first came out it was fine,
then quite a few versions ago, it as silent until you moved the modwheel.
now with the modwheel it sounds totally chaotic.

Hi Richard,

Last night I was thinking of how I can fix this compatibility issue and I think I have a plan! in a subsequent update I will try to implement it, so that presets that are create before v2.7 sound correctly. the issue is that after 2.7 the osc tone parameter has changed because the engine has changed. So for those older presets the resampling algorithm should use the older settings (per preset, it wont be a global setting)

In the short term, what you can do it you can turn up the osc tone parameters a little bit for those older presets.

Sort of what urs had done with zebra pre and post 2.5 Although what is odd for me, granted I usually spend more time with BT's presets, but I haven't really noticed any issue with non BT pre 2.7 presets.

Sorry, I was trying to add overlayed texts on it, I thought this would be quick, but I realized I've no idea how to use the video editor I downloaded for that (DaVinci Resolve). This thing is way harder to use than it needs to be.

So I uploaded it without these texts.

Has anyone tried running MPE on SynthMaster? I downloaded the latest demo, ran it in standalone mode and the only reference tp MPE mode is setting cc74. Supposedly SM is MPE capable. I connected my Linnstrument to SM and SM is only picking up on one channel. Is there a buried setting that needs to be enabled?

no it receives multiple channels. Can the linstrument send polyphonic pitch bend for instance ?

Yes it can. If you look at it as a guitar layout for example, you pick two notes and slide one right and the other left and you should get two smooth pitch bends...one rising and the other falling. I have the Linnstrument set to send on channels 1-8. If I start tapping notes - out of 8 taps only 1 produces a sound. I asked you about MPE several months ago and you said it would be in 2.8. So I downloaded the 2.8 demo yesterday but it doesn't appear to be working. I'm sure it's most likely a setting on my part, but I wanted to make sure. I didn't see where midi channels and such were selected (I didn't have a lot of time to explore it) so I figured asking here would be a good idea. :-)

The installer says both on its gui and in the properties of the exe, that it is still version 2.8.5
And also the size of the download for the full Synthmaster (windows version), says 183mb, rather than the correct: 243mb, on the website.

So I am new to VST and all, and stumbled on Synthmaster because of a facebook ad. I tried the demo and this one sounds very good and I want to get it! :D

Anyway I have a question: Does it matter at all where I buy it, e.g. from the official site vs some other "3rd party" webshop that sells various vsts? (I mean from support/update standpoint)

I googled that other webshop and it seems to be a reputable/reliable one.

Honestly, I'd just get it from KV331. Factory is $49 right now, so you get Synthmaster + a few expansion packs of your choice.

Edit: Correction, Factory is the bare-bones version, with no expansion packs. The Standard bundle comes with 3 expansion packs, and is $64. I'd say it's still worth it, though.

How much will the update cost, when version 3.0 of synthmaster is out?

How good will you rate the mainsound, are the oscillators aliasfree like in serum?

SM 2.8 -> 3.0 upgrade : $29
SM 2.8 -> SM One crossgrade : $29

(SM One is a more "basic" version of SynthMaster, designed with KISS principle in mind. However we still added some new features: It reads wavetables -multiple periods- from wave files, and also comes with new content: analog multisampled single cycles + acoustic/vocal wavetables created from multisamples.)
