$99 for an 0.5 version upgrade from Cubase 8.5 Pro. I will pass for now. Not seeing anything in there that would make me want to upgrade.

Yeah, found the answer in the pdf manual, and it does support 3rd party VSTs... But then I saw system requirements... I ask because it is the "intro" version, and it occurred to me the VST references in the description and manual could just be towards the first party ones already included. It's not readily clear (at least to me).
Never on Cubase Elements 7 and 8 that I had.
There is usually a comparison chart pdf between products, but not sure if 9 is up yet.
Good place to see what differs.

So I went to activate my upgrade to 8.5 Pro. When the e-licenser finally got through, it changed the license to 9. All good, but I can't access the download for 9.
I'm curious as to whether the 8.5 I am downloading will even work, since I don't seem to have a license for it.

Downloading is as smooth as paying was.
But the eLicenser...that's another story. I tried to update to the latest version but it blocked with the message:
VC redistributable x86 installation failed; error code '3010'
Maintainance also halted for the sixth time...

The license will work. But if you go to this link and insert the serial number of your eLicenser, it will give you the links to download Cubase 9: https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/grace_period.htmldzilizzi wrote:So I went to activate my upgrade to 8.5 Pro. I can't find out how to display the mixer history? And am unable to fine the Operation Manual. Hit F1 and it says it can't find in the package content of the app and searching the hard drive doesn't turn it up either. Anyone else having these problems?

I tried it earlier but I guess it hadn't updated yet. And my products didn't show it.

Install went smooth. Seems the 3010 error is superficial. Regestering at MySteinberg doesn't work yet. Who cares?
Those left and right and top and bottom popups seem to have disappeared.
Much to discover. I like the new lay-out, and the fact that I can plugin a keyboard even when C9 is already running is a small but important detail for me.

Could someone confirm whether if they´ve experienced any actual performance improvements?
That´s all I´m after, and though I stay away from 32-bit plugins as much as I can, I would hate when loading older projects in which they´re used, that I suddenly only have jbridge to load them with (if I´m not mistaken).
Best Regards

Cubase crashes to desktop the moment I try to load a sample into the new sampler VST thing.
Cubase won't open my ASIO settings to adjust the latency so I'm stuck with 22ms.
Large chunk of installed VSTs are missing. Even Steinberg 64 bit ones.
Oh look, they got moved the midi quantize button from its usual well hidden and illogical transport spot to a completely different area in a pull down menu, then hid a shit ton of other stuff behind bizarre side swipe tabs.
looks like a full day reformatting tomorrow
