Thank you for saving me a bunch of time - deleting the VST2 versions did the trick for me!mitchiemasha wrote: ... You should have VST3 versions anyway so you could delete them all.

That is an important improvement - it's a pain to have to restart old Qb whenever you want to change your midi devices.
I wonder if they have managed to improve the way generic controls are assigned so they are not simply allocated consecutively according to the way the project tracks are ordered?
That would be a much more meaningful reason to upgrade than the main features that are being presented thus far.

To me this was my biggest hate for 8.5 , it always seemed very unprofessional when working in the studio with clients, and they would always think it was an issue with my cpu,and it clearly was cubase all along.
Any takers, can you test this ? It was completely easy to do, just have a track playing, and then insert a vsti and see if it drops out audio.
thanks
The system needs to get the delay compensation for that plug.
Logic X works differently..
That's an interesting thought. As a frequent Ableton user, while I like it's approach when I'm playing live. I don't care as much in the Studio and I find that Ableton is often much slower at other tasks because it's prioritizing audio playback.

quick question...
When I open a new VST it doesn't open up and show you its GUI on the screen (it still loads fine and and pressing keys will make it sound) and I have to click the open VST icon every time. I've obviously clicked something I shouldn't. How do I stop this err feature and restore it back to normal?

FXpansion Synth Squad not working in Cubase 9....Amber, Cypher, Strobe, and Fusor are blacklisted. They are 64-bit and vst2. Is there a risk if I reactivate them. FXpansion is not supporting DCAM Synth Squad any longer, it is now a legacy product. There is a new version of Strobe (2), but that is another $79.

Good to know. Thankszvenx wrote:Licenses are backward compatible....dzilizzi wrote:So I went to activate my upgrade to 8.5 Pro. When the e-licenser finally got through, it changed the license to 9. All good, but I can't access the download for 9.
I'm curious as to whether the 8.5 I am downloading will even work, since I don't seem to have a license for it.

Establish that you want this behavior in preferences. (Plugins, under VST. "Open effect editor after loading it." If it's an instrument, "Always on top".)wickfut wrote:quick question...

started it up and all my Real Guitar instruments (except Real Eight, with is version 4) got blacklisted and didn't show in the VSTI list. However, I put "real" in the search box and Real Guitar came up and seems to be fine.
Could be the blacklisted versions were the 32 bit ones which is fine. J Bridge also worked fine after I gave Cubase Admin access. Not a big deal for me. This computer is only for music and doesn't usually have the wifi on unless I'm downloading programs or checking for updates.
And the colors are changeable. Currently looks very springy - I will probably have to change it, it takes a bit to get the right colors.

I am running Cubase 9 as admin and in compatibility mode (on Windows 10) as Win 8. NO ISSUES! Fastest I have ever seen Cubase. JBridge is working wonders for my relatively few 32 bit plugins and no blacklists that I could not simply reactivate. Kong Audio posed the only challenge with QV and their Bridger (which I would have sworn was JBridge anyway) but running that through JBridge gives me access again.
So far great job Steinberg. I have not checked to see what is missing from my punch-list, but it looks to be mostly covered.

If you are on mac there is a solution but you may not like the answer
Sierra fixes most 64bit plugin issues.
And you are right, I don't think FXpansion will spend more time on SS.

Perhaps I'll upgrade. I'm on Yosemite now. I reactivated SS from the blacklist and it crashed Cubase 9 over and over until I uninstalled the plugins.
