HI

Ididn't mean easy as pie to f**k off, my message may have got lost there

"ttoz" sounds like me this morning

I am sure if people feel strongly enough about a product and its need to develop they might also wish to send their concers to the developers.

Although I started the post asking for opinions; people need to respect the thoughts of whoever cares to comment - I like to think that people put in an opinion or comment because they genuinely feel as I do - that to give service (advice/opinion/help/time) to fellow carbon forms is a pleasurable experience.

Being told to go f**k yourself, besides being difficult (extremely so for some) is in bad taste old boy, although dissing peoples opinions (unless they are seriously escewed) is not a lotta betterer.

Thanks to everyone for devoting time that might be better used in carrying out all those F.....g DIY tasks U NO U shood be duing.

I do like that PIANO-ROLL, I can see myself transparently cruising around it without a care in the world.

one thing that is really cool, you can make quick "patterns" that can be duplicated with the pattern tool. nice for drumbeats.

just lasso some midi notes, then go to edit/create pattern from selection, and now when you use the pattern tool (the 4th tool from the top right there)
it will paint that pattern out whereever you want it.

like a glorified copy and paste, but you can make it start in any key, or whereever

I started it?

You were the one that resorted to name calling and child like whining.

And as far as your personal comments, all I can say is that you have no idea who you're typing at.

Grow up and get over it.
Your penis is a weapon. protect it and keep it dry.

If you have selected multiple notes, the changes of one note will be also changed with the same difference at the other notes, so the answer is: yes, thats possible.
ttoz wrote:and if wanted, to set all equal velocity or length? that would be an important feature for me.
You can set the equal velocity when you press the shift-key while you change the velocity, in this case all selected notes get the new velocity. But this doesn't work for the length with the current version. So here the answer is yes/no.

I will forward your request to magix, and i think that they chance that they will improve this is good, because the behauviour is really inconsitent, and that is imho untypical for samplitude.

Btw.: The screenshot from the piano-roll editor is from Sam7.2, the piano-roll editor of Sam8 has a new velocity-tool and allow to show the velocity via the color of the bars.

Bye,
Steffen

thanks for the insight steffen. i use samp primarily for audio, and FLstudio for midi. the perfect combo imo :)

That's sounding close to Logic (in Cubase I just miss the velocity tool), nice.

Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I'm not sure if it's quite the same as in Logic but if you go to http://www.samplitude.de/ and click on Samplitude V8 Info Centre there are some very interesting videos especially the one regarding the Midi and Drum editor.Looks like they've refined the Logic hyper editor idea.

HI

I was going to wait for the V8 demo but thought I would give the current V7.? version a look, the good news from my point of view is I launched the program and knocked up a little piano riff using a default sound, edited some notes in the piano roll, loaded in some FX and then loaded up a VST without reading ANYTHING!

For me this bodes well for the application although saying that there are a LOT of options, but I did not find it any harder than say Logic to do what I just discribed, I had to work a bit harder when I checked out SX recently and got no where with SONAR, found XT easy to get a synth going but not so easy to start recording midi data or editing in the Piano-Roll - of course these are 10 minute sessions and not every host is going to be instantly accessable, but I quite like Samplitude and will definately check the V8 demo out.

Even with Live4, Reason and eXT I still feel I need something to replace Logic that is similar in method as I feel so comfortable in this type of enviroment.

Yes it is pretty easy to get up and running and the VSTi implementation is similar to Logic as well.Just load it up in the slot and off you go.Unlike SX where you need 2 channels - one for audio and one for midi. I agree there are a lot of options but what I have been doing is trying to set it up with similar key commands to Logic and discovering new methods along the way 8)
