But with everything being posted in this thread, I sometimes wonder if the rest of these people and I are using the same plugin. It's crazy all this stuff I'm reading. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone somewhere.
Exactly

I've been having the time of my life with this synth.

Not one single problem.

Running W10 on a decent machine in studio one, lots of tracks, some rendered for convenience.

This synth is great, taking me to new places :ud:

Avenger does produce beautiful sounds for sure, this patch uses 3 oscillators, 2 with a re-synthesized wavetable and an FFT osc.

There's a whole lotta hoopla here, and lots of guilty parties making all kinds of accusations who don't even put their OS in their sigs. It's a wild guess, but they didn't have many MBP users on the beta, and the GPU thing slipped through the cracks. It was fixed in a week - kudos to Vengeance for doing so.

And yes, I've no doubt that there are plenty more glitches to be found in this brand new release. Everyone so desperate to get it the mircosecond it is released, and scream so loudly when they discover it's not 100% rock solid on every configuration, on every system.

I've not bought anything from Vengeance before. Avenger worked well right out of the gate on my Windows rig, and made the CPU go crazy on the MBP. I have nothing but praise for the speed of the fix, plus the candour and good grace Manuel has shown here on this sprawling thread.

One big oustanding issue for me - let's have a Vengeance subforum eh? Bugs in one place, feature requests in another....

EDIT - and now to put my specs in my sig....

What machine you've got? One pad takes around 30% CPU?

I did this on a Macbook Pro, my big Mac Pro is still at the doctors.

my suggestion : to have another GUI with Flat design ( no 3D design ), this should solve the GPU problem

thanks for Avenger team for quick update and we wish more
It's a sales argument that the synth can be resized and I like that.
But maybe the team should consider a FIXED bitmap version (size 80% or so) to solve the problems for now?
Any vector format can be resized (3D or flat). The point is a flat vector design requires less processing.
Apple did it like this: use the vector engine just when the user resizes the GUI or tweaks a graphic element, then "screenshot" it to a flat png and that's it. On MacBook Pro retina Avenger's GUI takes 50% GPU just by sitting on the screen. True, the usage does not seem to increase by a lot when actually playing notes.

What's annoying, when doing sound design and mostly tweaking knobs and/or envelopes and pressing a key every few seconds, soon the fans start because given the load, the GPU thinks I'm playing BioShock Infinite.

Something is odd with the knob scaling, I have the formant knob dialed towards the left by 31,3%, now I assign the modulation wheel to the formant knob and add 31,3% in the mod matrix numerically, but that doesn't reset the formant knob to zero, but it goes way beyond the 0 value, that can't be right.
are you sure, that you set the mode in the mod matrix to additive, instead of percentual? If its percentual its 31.3% of THE REST OF THE WAY. Refer to the manual pls for details

and regarding your mod env sync problem: please be absolutely sure, that the Mod Env points sit *exactly* on their grid? Please zoom in completely and take a look

+1

Time of my life with this synth, describes the feeling I have quite good.

Just my two cents to the "its working great"-faction b/c most of people here are only posting if they have issues.

I don't know if this is a known issue already but anyways..

STR:
1. Open Avenger
2. Memory>Initialize
3. Open MOD Env and do some edits to the curve, add points etc.
4. Right click on MOD Env tab > Copy
5. Memory>Initialize
6. Open MOD Env > Right click on MOD Env tab > Paste
7. Observe

AR: Mod Env is not displaying any curve
ER: Mod Env should be pasted from previous copy action

The mod envelopes in synced mode snap to grid, so there is nothing much I can do wrong, but I shall check again when back in the studio. I already spent an hour or so with this subject so I doubt it's pilot error, after about 5 bars the off-sync between envelope and step sequencer becomes audible. Concerning the scaling it's most probably my fault then, sorry for the mis-report.

A small nit about the design:

I had quite a bit of trouble figuring how to save a preset. I scanned the manual, did a search for keyword preset, watched some of the videos, explored every menu item in the preset browser viewer.

I copied the Factory folder structure, edited the .info file and made my own browser entry with custom icon, but could still find no way to make entries there without manually copying files.

Finally when I hit upon the 'Memory' button I saw what to do. It is nowhere mentioned in the manual, at least I could not find it.

This is a rather unique and idiosyncratic way to save a disk item, isn't it? It makes a lot more sense to put the save in the preset browser area somewhere, perhaps as a right click when a bank is displayed? Particularly since at the moment a right-click there does nothing in that field area.

in Logic Pro X i found one logic issue in Drums multi output (Audio Plugin)
you get 12 output for the drums and the last one "B" not working because it is not assigned to any channel

Logic create only 15 AUX channel + 1 Master Plugin channel (not like Cubase 17 channel)

1 Master should 1-2
AUX 1 channel 3-4
AUX 2 channel 5-6
AUX 3 channel 7-8
AUX 4 channel 9-10
AUX 5 channel 11-12>>>>>>>>Kick
AUX 6 channel 13-14>>>>>>>>Rimshot
AUX 7 channel 15-16>>>>>>>>Snare1
AUX 8 channel 17-18>>>>>>>>Clap
AUX 9 channel 19-20>>>>>>>> Snare2
AUX 10 channel 21-22 >>>>>>>>Percussion1
AUX 11 channel 23-24 >>>>>>>>close Hihat1
AUX 12 channel 25-26 >>>>>>>>Percussion2
AUX 13 channel 27-28 >>>>>>>>Close Hihat2
AUX 14 channel 29-30 >>>>>>>> Ride
AUX 15 channel 31-32 >>>>>>>> Open Hihat

and now still the Last Button "B" (Crash) which not assigned to any of the above channels, and you can't assign it in Avenger manually

Solution : the Kick drum must start from AUX 4 channel 9-10 , then will be place at the end for the "B" Crash
and will be 1 Master and 3 AUX free for other instruments

Guess I found someone to blame for a change: the Beta-Testers! :ud:
Not really.. as a Beta Tester with a pre release version everything worked great!! However we did not get NFR licenses which is pointless as I cannot afford a purchased version to carry on testing... that is the purpose of a nfr licence so that as a Beta Tester you can continue to test the product post release and give help and advice where necessary. .. that did not help in this case... so I am sorry for you guys battling with the post release version.. we who could not afford to buy the product to help testing unrestricted release can't help.... :ud:

Thanks - I don't know what you mean by “open“, hi EQ boost is always possible but I tend to do the opposite, it's probably a matter of taste, hearing habits and the overall frequency range of your hearing.
