So odd! The DW6000 was also my first ever synth (took me forever to save for it) and it is still shoved in the back of my upstairs closet! All of the great patches on it were ones I had to work forever to create as the stock ones were unusable. It really was overly bright wasn't it?

Any chance you could externalize the definition file for the UI as well? Id love to fix all those little positional inconsistencies i was talking about earlier, in fact i wouldnt even mind making a whole new UI with a whole new layout, making it wider and less tall so it fits better on the screen.

good idea on making it wider. i did this quick cut n paste mock up for control placement. i think it would work.

Here is a new version of Cobalt that is skinnable:

Be sure to read the README.txt file included with the download. Also, study the INI files provided, there are two: one for a large UI and another for a small UI. Since the skin is no longer baked into the app, there's no need for two dlls for each of the two sizes; just one dll that can use either of the INI files.

Note, I've tried to improve UI performance, and I think I've succeeded to a small degree. You will still get pop-in when the UI loads. And you may notice some of the controls (especially sliders) disappearing temporarily when hovering another window over Cobalt. Maybe I'll eventually figure a way around it.

Also, included with this download is grymmjack's Azure bank, included with his permission. Thanks, grymmjack!

Well shoot I'm doing something wrong. I just wanted to re-color the background which is about all I know how to do but have done it successfully on quite a few other plugins however when I save the .png it reloads and appears to be misaligned. Guess I better leave the skinning to the experts.....

been watching this thread, recently used Cobalt in my latest song, check my music tracker in my user profile if interested.
Cobalt is becoming a hybrid favorite.

it has to do with color depth. try opening and resaving with MS paint

How could MS Paint have color depth that Paint Shop Pro and Gimp don't ?

I've used Paint Shop to edit dozens of GUI's....it's set to RGB 16 Bit/ Channel the highest setting it has.......

EDIT: I tried to save with MS Paint. Didn't work, it's still misaligned. I think it has something to do with layers. Maybe Rick will visit and tell me what's going on..........

It's being run as Cobalt.exe?

Hmm, I'll need to update the code to handle that.

yes, using savihost to run it standalone, but the error also happens in EnergyXT2.

Can you email me the image (check README file for email address)? I'll try it out here and see if I can figure out what's going on.
