Chris-S wrote:The LFO delay don't works if the LFO is used to modulate the Pan. Intended so?
Intended, yeah. LFOs exist at the global level as does the panner effect. The delay parameter applies to each voice with note-on events. Each voice is responsible for fading in the LFO output and applying it to its modulation sources in response to note-on events. Note-on events are specific to each voice and wouldn't make sense applied at the global level where the LFO and panner live.

Does that make sense?

Is Portamento working for anyone (in Mono) ? I can't seem to get it work. Something I'm doing wrong or is there a missing switch ?

Thanks Rick for the PS files. I don't have any idea what to do with them but I'm sure someone else does. Thanks for sharing.

Working here. I started with the blank patch, switched to mono, then turned on portamento for both oscillators (each oscillator has its own portamento switch). Does this work for you? If now, can you send me a patch where you can't get it to work?

This is off-topic, but are you the same guy who created the C# synth that ended up driving some of the music for the Panoramical game? I have fiddled around with that code a bit, since I want to do a project of that nature...I will definitely install your plugins and check them out :D

:dog: Doh....I'm getting blind in my old age. I didn't see the Portamento switches in the Osc area. It's been awhile since I've done any patches in Cobalt. Sorry ! :borg:

I'm not familiar with the Panoramical game. I did write a C# synth toolkit years ago:

Thank you! I hope you enjoy them.

Yeah that is what I was referring to...at one point in time I had forked your project on github because I was working on a synthesizer idea for MonoGame. Your code was part of what I used to help us debug an issue with MonoGame not properly handling audio buffers the same way it did in XNA.

The game I mentioned is kind of an obscure indie thing but I really would like to create something of that nature. Basically, turning songs/music videos into instruments in and of themselves that can be performed by the player with a MIDI controller. It's a pretty cool idea.

IIRC, they were using some fork of your toolkit to drive some of the sounds. They were doing it with Unity, but I was trying to figure out how to do it with MonoGame.

Check it out: http://panoramic.al/

So yeah, I recognized your name from your work on that synth toolkit project...I know it was like a decade ago that you did that, but your code is still being actively used by people so kudos for that. 8)

Hmm, I'll check for a bug, I know at one point the switches were missing; I added them back. I'll check to make sure the right ones are hooked up.
I'm using the 32 bit version (cobald.dll 3.131.392 Bytes).

Hi, SoundGoddess. Thanks so much for the information. It's gratifying to know that some of my Code Project articles are still useful. One of my long term goals is to eventually update them. This give me more motivation to do so. :)

I'm seeing 3,131,904 bytes here. Can you download it again to make sure you have the latest version?

Thank you, Leslie for this release of Cobalt! I asked about it in a PM several months ago, and just wanted to add my official thank you. It sounds and works great for me.

Thank's, this version solves the issue.

Leslie, thank you so much for putting this out here for us. I wasn't familiar with Cobalt and I don't usually download free synths. I have a bunch I have paid for that I am still learning and my system is rock solid so I am always hesitant to add anything that may upset my system.

I could tell by people's reaction here that this was something special so I decided to check it out and I am so glad I did. This synth has some amazing sounds and capabilities. I will be using this on some tracks for sure.

I'm able to recreate the problem. I've noticed that it's present on any patch that uses mono mode. I created a simple patch with env velocity sensitivity set to zero, filter open all the way, etc., and still experienced the problem.

What I've noticed is that the synth gets louder in mono mode on subsequent notes. If you play a note in poly mode, then switch to mono mode, play the same note; it's the same loudness. But leave it in mono mode and go up the keyboard, and it gets louder. I think that's the clue. At this point, I don't have any idea of what could be causing it. I'll dig deeper.
That is exactly what I'm experiencing, thanks for looking in to it
Hi, Yeager. I think I found the bug, could you try this new version and let me know what you think?
