Too bad when technical issues block creativity... I really mean it, not in an ironical way. :(

This track of yours I enjoy very much. Nice change in a flurry of all those edm tracks (no offense to all :D ). Hope to hear more tracks like that from you in future rounds of OSC.

There is just a very small "problem" if I may. Nice background and also strings but they sound very bonding/gluing. Not sure I have choose right words to describe it. I think that strings should be positioned more in front so they will be separated from background a little.

I have to say it again - beautiful piece :tu:

Thanks. well, you know me, always like to try something different.

Ok, I'll have a look at the balance - there are a couple of places where the lead string does get a little lost I know, but wasn't sure whether that was OK or not. Also, the other backing "strings" in there do have their part to play, so need to be enough in the front to make sense when they play (at times they actually need to be much the same as the lead as they are sort of counterpointing at times and also at other times being part of the actual "melody"). It's a tricky piece to get just right - but I'll take on board any comments made and do what I can or feel is right for an improvement.

Many thanks, so glad you like it. As you say, not your "usual" OSC track - but we do get some nice classical and ambient tracks now and then, so it's not toatally "out there"!

I swear there's something built into this synth that causes acute balearism in me. There's a 90's cheesemonster just hiding in there, waiting to turn every attempt at a track into something unashamedly "uplifting and melodic".

:help:

Synth1 has "ghost of the machine" inside. ;)

haha, I think I know what you mean

Turn off the pitch tracking on the second OSC, go for some ring mod and a little (or a lot) of the built-in distortion, then you find things getting nasty in a big way. :scared:

it's a very happy synth.

Produced in Zynewave Podium, free version, 32-bit
Plugins: zReverb, TSClip, FerricTDS, reaxcomp, Limiter No6
14 instances of Synth1.
I ran the drums through FerricTDS, not too sure if that's fine. I also fattened my snare a little with the saturation in TSClip.
I bounced the mix and then ran it through reaxcomp, FerricTDS, and Limiter No6.
All patches were designed by me, 1 or 2 were reused from my other projects.

I hope you all enjoy! I'm rather a music noob, and this is my first post in the forum. Yay!

Any Reaper users having an issue where the synth keep jacking the volume on a few tracks to 100%?

It's the strangest thing, and I'm not sure what the issue is. I think it might have something to do with automation being enabled, as all of the tracks that it happens to have automation. It sucks having to spend 15-20mins just getting the track to the point where I'm not making my Master Fader bleed profusely.
Disco flangus shenanigans

It does that in Bitwig, too. Basically it outputs a sound that is SO LOUD it ruins the DAW. In fact sometimes I've seen it just kills random channels and I need to restart the audio engine. Never seen that in another synth. If you keep a limiter with ISP on the track, it should be fine.

Reaper user here ... luckily I didn't run into any problems at all, but then all my tracks were MIDI based without automation this time round.

Set the Master to auto-mute at a certain volume and you won't kill your ears/speakers/phones!
