I'm embarrassed to ask this, but after some time with the manual and trying various things, I can't figure out how to import the additional wavetables available on the download page. I have a file called WavetablesIngoWeider_v1.avengercontent sat here on the mac - the Avenger browser can't see it, there doesn't seem to be anything in that format in the expansions folder and can't see how to expand it if its compressed. Any ideas anyone?

Drag from browser to avenger's window, count to 5 and drop the .avengercontent file
Yay thanks, the last worked for me. Worth putting that in the manual / faq / download page methinks Manuel - cheers

Exit the factory presets (that back arrow in upper left corner). Then right-click the Factory icon and select "Create new customer expansion". It will be created at the same location Factory resides. If there are categories you can't find, go to where your expansion was generate and create new folders - they will appear in Avenger's browser and you can save new sounds there.

Thank you sircuit. :)

When you click a note in the drum sequencer, near the gate settigns you'll see a dialog box called "roll off". For that note, switch the roll to 2,3,4... it's the only setting I found usable for drum rolls. I find it however very basic to actually compose inside the drum sequencer for production purposes. Just to sustain a jam which will be further developed properly in a daw, yes, that will do.

But I'm not asking about Roll Off, that's something else, for glitchy effects, re-triggers, etc.... I simply want to be able to hit a key on my keyboard, have it trigger the drum sample, and have the drum sample play in its entirety, no matter when I release the key. This is usually called "one shot" mode, because it means the envelope is ignored and the sample just plays through...

Does Avenger really have no one shot mode for drum samples played from the keyboard?

If it does, I can't find it. Know exactly what you mean, and yes it would be useful. Often you can bodge it by whacking up the release to full in the envelope, but that's not working for me either.

Yeah that was the first thing I checked too, to see if you could just delete the envelope (nope) or extend it out a ways at full power (you can, but it doesn't effect how the sample is played back after releasing the key).

So apparently it's just not there. I can live without it, but would certainly be nice to have....

The "one shot" feature is present on Phalanx so it's likely be never implemented in Avenger. It's a thing, you know...

Hi,

I was tooling around on the Vengeance site to see if the Xmas discount applies to Avenger (it does, pretty cool) when I see these extra options in the cart. Backup media, which I suppose is just a box version, and download insurance or something. The download insurance outlines that it allows you to download Avenger for up to six months after purchase. What it doesn't say is why this would be necessary. Do you only get one download after paying $200 and if it gets interrupted you're just... out of luck? It also says it doesn't entitle you to download updates. I have no idea what that means. Can someone explain to me what kind of licensing policy this is?

I'm considering getting Avenger over the holiday, but I really don't like to see this kind of stuff. The choice is between Zebra and Avenger. I already have Cubase so I don't mind the eLicenser, soft or not, but if there are all kinds of licensing/download hassles that could definitely be a factor tipping the needle in one direction or the other.

I've wondered about this for a while myself. I've never not been able to download what I needed when I needed it, so I haven't really worried about it. I wonder if it is standard operating procedures for ShareIt/DigitalRiver, the eCommerce site that handles payments?

I think those extras have to do with the service provider they are using for online sales ("MyCommerce"), because I've bought products from other plugin companies and the exact same BS shows up in my cart, without me asking for it. So I think that "MyCommerce" company, who Vengeance and multiple others use, tries to make an extra buck by throwing in those backup plans, regardless of what the backup policy is from the synth company itself.

Honestly they should knock it off immediately, adding one item to your cart should never result in un-asked-for items being added as well.

I get a pretty constant 10 samples or 2.3 millisecs delay when rendering any of the outputs.
thanks Denis,
if i render 2 times the same patch, eg, a kick sample with no modulation or fx, i have some random timing offset with the render, one time, it s 2 samples, after, 5 samples...7 samples, all my other synth are perfect align when i render... :o
What DAW.? I am on Cubase 8.5 Mac. I agree all other synths are sample accurate when rendered.
i use Reaper 5.29 in w 7.

mholloway wrote:Hi guys,

LOVING this synth, but quick question -- is there a way to make the drum samples play back in one shot mode? The default seems to be a gate mode, e.g. a quick press of the key means a clipped version of the samples plays back -- am I missing a toggle so the entire drum sample gets triggered on any kind of key press?

thanks!

of course this is possible! On the SYS page tab there is a setting for this: "DK Midi mode stops sample yes/no"

Only idea I have atm it, that you maybe used a limiter or compressor in Avenger? Due to the lookahead, these fx types create a ~2ms latency (which is usually compensated by the DAW automatically, mabye you turned it off somehow). This is the nature of these fx types, and you should know this, before using them

like said, you can drag and drop files directly into Avenger's open GUI, or you can go to the SYS Page tab [content], there is a import button too. We will implement, that Avengers Browser will see the files, too in a future update.

and a question:

why is this modulating also to the right? i set it to the left/minus value?

because the LFO is a bi-polar modulation source. You can change that, by adjusting the "offset" knob in the LFO section. (most of the questions here could be answered by reading the manual :)
