And the good news ( for c_voltage- ) are that the Step Play Mode for the Polysequencer will be available for both v 2.5.2 -not yet released- and for PolyKB III. A smart use for that play mode can be some chord memory function for example. ( each time the sequencer receive a note on, it will play one step further, and can generate a new chord, if some different chords has been programmed in it)
(btw Laurent would be good to repair the same mode in SynX2, if i understand correctly)![]()

Just patiently testing beta after beta. The new supersized modulator seems to definitely work as it should. And I've given a few clues about some of the differences between PKB II and III.
A few more/less days should not be a problem, as, after all, some synthesizers from other companies are waiting for version 3 for a few years now, if Xmas was an abstraction. But yes, the PKB III is still Xmas 2016 compatible, and will be released in a few days.
Note : Just a few days left (3 actually) to get the PKB II during the Last Sale event

I'd like to see Xils do a decent modular step sequencer plugin

While these all appear to be pretty cool, none of them appear to be what I would call modular. Actually, I can't even imagine what a modular sequencer would look like.electro wrote:B-StepVariKusBrainZ wrote:I'd like to see Xils do a decent modular step sequencer plugin
Thesys
Cream
Bluearp (free)
these are lacking what?

I use them all except bluearp, plus a few others including all the Nassen creations.electro wrote:B-StepVariKusBrainZ wrote:I'd like to see Xils do a decent modular step sequencer plugin

RaxnTrax is the closest to my needs but is fiddley
I've gotten close to what I want in Eurorack but I've run out of space and money to take it further and it's not as convenient as software.

Also Temper is a favourite with its amazing modulation system, the arp is the nuts.

Eg
Control of numbers of steps played, step length, velocity, speed, timing, direction skips via modulators.
You can get really crazy sequences that don't repeat, can be tweaked and modulated real-time including 'swing' or timing depending what modulators you've got wired in.
Just sending an LFO through a pitch quantiser gives you an instant arp.
Of course it more fun when the 'sequencer' is able to control any synth parameter.

I'm hoping Loomer Epoch will be the answer but won't know for sure until it's released.
MidiMod pretty much does what I like but isn't a plugin

I just bought Numerology SE. It calls itself a modular sequencer. It has a window where modules (lfos, step, chords) are patched together, kind of like Reason's rack system. I just bought it last week, so I can't really speak to its functionality. The demos are cool though. It's mac only.

Like already said, Mac only.

Do you mean an independant unit, only dedicated to 'modular step sequencing' (And not tied/combined to/with a synthesizer or a drum machine ?)VariKusBrainZ wrote:I'd like to see Xils do a decent modular step sequencer plugin
