For me it looks great, and works great. Near perfect for me! My biggest gripe is the lower half does not remember the size for each tab. So when I go from nearly full screen MIDI editor to the mixer I have to resize it every time. Hope that comes in an update.

I am really liking Cubase Artist 9, I upgraded from Artist 8. Like it so much I'm selling Studio One 3 Pro, Renoise and Reaper

only a couple of times have tried Cubase and once was in 1999/2000, I think version 9 looks awesome

Sorry, it's not how I.....see itRobert Randolph wrote:The v5 definitely looks more like lego blocks to me.snipped to save space
V9 is a huge improvement.
Those meters are awful. The slider handles look look terrible. The color scheme is good, but the graphics are lame imo.
One thing is for sure, both look REALLY cluttery to me. I think I'll move on from cubey, again.

V5 is much better for me. No mouseover nonsense

I bought Cubase Elements 9 and now I think Variety Of Sound really needs to update their splendid FerricTDS plugin to 64-bit. My favorite VST effect is gone! It's on a blacklist.

Just wanted to see if anyone besides me is having crashing with Cakewalk plugins (Rapture Pro, Z3ta+ 2, etc.).
EDIT- Really weird and gonna test this. I only crash if it is the FIRST plugin I load. WEIRD!

I know they are working fine. They were in a project I did the other day. But they were not the first ones I loaded. Three retests with NO REBOOT yielded...nothing. Everything works fine. I'll chalk it up to weirdness as I mentioned before but will be watch closely. Strange I loaded it three times each time loading a different Cakewalk plug and it crashed every time. Then I loaded something else, shut it back down, and loaded Cakewalk plugins three more times but without any crashing.

I just tried it, both after the loaded ones, in an existing project, and as the first instrrument, in an ampty project, and it loaded fine (Windows 7 x64, Cubase x64 9.01).thejonsolo wrote:I know they are working fine. I also tried to load it as a track instrument (I usually only use rack instruments), and it also loaded fine. I am using the VST3 version. Did you check with CCC that you have the latest version?

Yes. Only Z3TA needed an update. Like I said, I reproduced it three times straight. Then after loading another instrument first and then trying to load the Cakewalk plugs, no crashes. And now I cannot reproduce it at all. So it is just weird.
And it load fine without the update AFTER my middle try of loading something else first. I updated anyway.
So recap-
All with no reboot
1. Run Cubase, load Z3TA- Crash
2. Run Cubase, load Rapture Pro- Crash
3. Run Cubase, load Z3TA- Crash
4. Run Cubase, load Wiggle, load Z3TA- NO crash
5. Run Cubase, load Z3TA- NO crash
6. Run Cubase, load Rapture Pro- NO crash
7. Run Cubase, load Z3TA- NO crash
8. Update Z3TA, run Cubase, load Z3TA- NO crash
Weird. And there are no CrashDumps either unless they are stored in a new location (usually Documents/Steinberg/Crashdumps).

They only make windows WER files now in Cubase 9 as I discovered - nothing in Steinbergs own place CrashDumps like 8.5 did.thejonsolo wrote: Weird. And there are no CrashDumps either unless they are stored in a new location (usually Documents/Steinberg/Crashdumps).
Just search for WER files and you will find them. More extensive than what is stored in event log in windows.
