It's now time for me to either buy an upgrade bundle or go all out on new PC .
For last 6 years Iv drooled over pcs from a certain company and visit the site regular just to look , I always thought it id use them without a doubt but what concerns me is the amount of bad reveiws im seeing this year mostly for customer service etc .
I have purchased some studio goodies from there in the past without problems but I now have concerns about handing over money for expensive goods .
Id like to know who you guys have had good experiences with regarding buying pcs
Thanks

I'm a DELL, Apple or DIY guy. I've suffered at the hand of retailers cum builders <cough>SCAN</cough> and have always gone back to paying for support. Bundled support is worthless and being honest with an upfront cost is better IMO.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I bought my studio laptop from SCAN computers. They were easy to deal with, made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I'm very happy with the computer. Had it for around 18 months. It gets everyday use with no problems whatsoever.

+1 for Scan. Not the cheapest, but rock solid. Two and a half years with no problems of any kind.

Thanks for quick replys - already mixed reviews tho :-/

My previous box was bought 6 years ago, from Comet (now defunct), a Fujitsu with an i5, 8 gbs ram, 1 gb hdd. I added a cheap video card. I gave it to my son when I got the Scan. It's still running glitch-free with Win10.
Before that I had an Asus laptop - it lasted 14 months before the mb gave up the ghost.
I think in the end it's just pot luck.
Anyway, good luck, I hope you end up with a gem.

I currently have a Scan (since 2010) It has performed well. However they asked me to send my interface (M-Audio Fast Track Pro) and lost it.And asked me to send my software (Sonar Prod 8.5) and all they did was run the standard installers. It was claimed they would need to "set it up". Prior to that I had one built by what was then called Millenium Music (I think 2002) which is still going!.
Any company that solely concentrates on the specific needs of musicians is worth considering.

build it by yourself. be the hero in your studio.

SCAN all the way. I always used to 'get a mate to build one for me' but last time around (which was in 2012 now!) I decided to get it through SCAN. I can honestly say that I have never regretted that decision. I have never had any compatibility or driver issues, it has never crashed on me, and all components are still going strong. When it gives up the ghost, I'll be straight back to SCAN.

Kaine (aka Pete from SCAN) hangs out here and is super helpful and knowledgeable.

I started buying from Scan Computers in 2001 always been the cheapest and they are near to me so easy for returns only ever had to return two controllers because the maker of them were idiots at the time they test them in seconds and sort you out in a few mins. Walking in and buying a part is a breeze just to the desk say what you want pay, to the collection desk out. Last few years they have been stocking audio gear and building computers for audio production. Not the cheapest for audio gear though I got my Babyface Pro a heck of a lot cheaper from Absolute Music.
