right seeing as most of the masters of programming this bad boy have now replied

are you going to get together and write a guide for absynth :D

it's been a while since I spent an evening just playing with presets.

these are so good I ended up reorganizing my absynth folder for subfolders for these and the yahoo bio-morphik banks and a few others. ended up throwing out a bunch of others I've downloaded

absynth seems to have a unique quality among the synths I know. The good banks available are just brilliant -- leading to much playing and inspiration.

And the less good banks aren't just mediocre or 'ok', they really suck the air out of the room. They sound awful. Most synths the less good banks are just sort of flat, with Absynth the bad banks are like potholes that expand to Grand Canyon bottomless proportions. Man, I couldn't believe some of the crap I had on my hard drive, esp. in comparison to these offerings. I couldn't have those banks on the same hard drive as these.

Slightly off topic and apologies if you have already seen this on the Absynth Yahoo Group but the new sounds moved me to dig out the Digital Music Maker tutorial for a first pass over programming this. I got Absynth2 as part of Komplete2 but when I started programming I found some of the library folders are empty, ie the is nothing in Mod, Notescale or Tuning libraries. I recently downloaded and installed the Library files from NI, I've just checked the installer and it asks to install the files into C:Programs/Native Instruments/Absynth2,
which is correct. I've looked through the subfolders, nothing unusual or misfiled there.

I thought when I did the original installation from Komplete2 I said yes to all the peripheral bits, ie the libraries for Kompakt etc.

I posted on the Absynth Yahoo group last night, no reply and this morning I put a query into NI support, no word. (I know I'm impatient)

I seem to remember installing Komplete2 was a bit of a trial so I don't want to do a re-install, any ideas, oh great ones?

many of the library folders are empty ...

you are meant to fill them yourself , which can be done via the copy/paste functions associated with the patch editor ...

if you require further explaination , let me know ...

The aBnormal one's right-most of the library folders are empty;they're there for you to create your own shortcuts.
You can also right click on whatever you're saving and choose save to library instead of copy/paste.
The library and the ability to save bits and chunks of patches for use elsewhere's one of the best features of Absynth 2 :)

 You are right..I thought I had to click in the middle of the Mod "pod", and that only gave me cut & paste and library..if I click to the left I get something to appear to create my mod..sorry to bother you all

Is this available online or anything? I don't think this ever made it to the States.

Re DMM, possibly not, Amazon do a subscription

I'm now realising after my blunder that maybe the tutorial (2 pages of screenshots) isn't that good..it doesn't tell you step by step like some I've seen. I did see a tutorial somewhere else..maybe it was Computer Musician (the other one I get is Future Music) but I'm not sure where that is...

The best thing about Absynth is being able to save waveforms, envelopes, and effects... and then randomly pick between them.
