There's no change in filters or sound engine as far as I hear, but there are additional features that add or enhance the sound (like using unison in Arp mode). There are two modes of unison as well, morphing ... etc. See the video and you'll get what's newszurcio wrote:Does it really sound much better than version 1? I no longer have Predator 1.x to compare...
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

It'd be also a good time to change the title of this thread, when the new skin comes.

I have to add to this my disappointment with the GUI, what a mess. I've got my glasses on (which helps
but on a UHD 28 monitor on Mac Pro it looks utterly dreadful. Anything from U-he is how it should be done, crystal clear and scalable. Anything less these days is not acceptable in my humble opinion, but they're not the only ones getting away with it (NI?). Poor.

!
didnt spend much time yet with it, but somehow i use this not for top notch modern sounds but more smooth ones like pads, atmospheres, old school plucks etc.

Hi all,
I gave it a try, not the least as 49€ is a small upgrade cost vs. feeding you GAS with new synths.
I have to say I am very impressed. Like the first Predator, this thing is easy to program, if you know your way around a VA synth, getting the sound you want is 95% just a matter of dialing it in. The new one has exactly what I was missing in the first: XY pad, morph modes and user waves. There is a lot of standard mods like a filter LFO or PWM-like sound changes where all you have to do is to dial a button - in many other synths, I have to go into the mod matrix, welcome to spreadsheet sound design.
Sound quality is hard to judge objectively, all current synths do sound great to me when you spend some time finding their sweet spots. But with Predator 2, you have a low CPU go-to VA that has exactly the bread-and-butter sounds you need, a role that a CPU hog like Serum or Diva can not meet currently. It also is an excellent drum synthesizer btw., I like using 10 instances just for drumkit synthesis.
So overall, I think this is a worthwhile upgrade.
