I'm more like 9/10 for the GUI - one missing for being blurry if not used on big high res screen and for not being able to open more elements in the middle like you can do with the EQ. Apart from that I prefer the GUI and concept of design to nearly every plugin I own.

It is a good UI. * I don't need the browser on the left all the time. Actually, almost never. Precious space there going lost because of that.
* The mod page is too small
* The fx space is too small with too tiny knobs
* I want to see all filters/amps/env's/ at once. This could be done with that dynamic trick they implemented (shaper etc...)
* "3D" display of the waveform(s) in the main screen as an option.
Other then this, it is a nice UI imho. Good contrast on my screen, the important knobs are big enough and i like the color scheme (some extra colors would be appreciated though)

1.26 resolved my problem with midi automation in ableton.
When i switched in 1.25 to a new preset and entered record, the preset was automaticly changed to my last midi controller values

True! Feeling the same about the totally oversized browser. Would be nice to blend it in as soon as you need it and reduce it otherwise. But it wouldnt help without a complete redesign.exmatproton wrote:* I don't need the browser on the left all the time. Actually, almost never. Precious space there going lost because of that.

For the FX I asked if all of them could be enlarged like the EQ in an update, but no answer by now. As far I recall this is on the todo list regarding the mod matrix.
And yeah: I don't need fancy 3D. First thing I do, after setting up any kind of software, is turning off all visual effects to safe my precious CPU/GPU power for the stuff that counts.
But I still feel this GUI is highlevel - which is a matter of subjectivity for sure.

You use 94 procent on a hd screen as well. For me not usable that big.exmatproton wrote:It is a good UI. Not sure how u manage, how it look in studio one with 90 percent
view. For me i need to use 80-70 percent and it gets blurry and everything really small. Picture is me using 90 percent. It even goes down under windows bar and under that. So when you wrote it was improvement using 94 percent size i such lol who uses that big on hd. most want to be able to move it in the window. The gui is really bad for 23 inch screens hd. Especially for me in s1, i get that workspace above as well the plugin window. For me i have to agree its a bad GUI for myself

I find it very useful in vst's like Falcon, Icarus, Nave, Serum and Rapid to see what the waves evolvement is.Warehouseparty wrote: And yeah: I don't need fancy 3D. It isn't hard on the CPU/GPU in the previous mentioned synths (on my system at least). Make it switchable, so users can choose for themselves

In Reaper, Ableton and Sonar, i have to lower the size as well. Over there i set it to 90%, which looks good enough on my screen.
But i usually use FL Studio, so 94% is the most used size over here.

On a 27" Thunderbolt and a 32" 4K monitor the GUI size at 100% is just fine, it just uses far too much CPU on Mac when the UI is open, no matter if ECO mode or high res mode is selected. The mod matrix is tiny and I spend a lot of time in there when assigning modulators to matrix slots - so that's a big downer. The browser on the left is a total waste of space, it should be optional to have the browser open or not.

This synth could really benifit of having 2 GUI modes which could be switched, like small screen and the current and call that bigscreen/fullscreen. One that maybe has less straightforward but suit more for small screens
small screen could be something like
Like mod matrix opens in middle off press of a button, give more space to text, make preset and browser more like u-he and effects opens in middle. the display gets switched to more empty space in top right, remove volume information make that smaller somewhere else. the bottom could be removed, keyboard hidden if wanted to.

I'm not sure how we got on to discussing wholesale GUI redesign. I think there might be some useful tweaks and I've no problem with making tweak suggestions (I've done some myself), but the overall concept of the UI is a very large part of the reason I like Avenger, and it's silly to talk about massive changes. If you don't get on with the UI, don't buy the synth is my view. I don't have any other synth this big where it's all there right in front of me, and that - plus all the drag and drop - is why I like it.
