i guess not. why on earth would he have OSC2 to act as an LFO instead of OSC3?

also... it's been said that v2.5 can run alongside v3. how about v2? i'm thinking of reverting from v2.5 to the classic v2 (for nostalgia purposes) if possible. will that work, or no?

I guess I should have checked before buying the upgrade, but no NKS support ? Will this be coming in a later release ?

* Well, Osc3 can work like an LFO ( i.e KB tracking can be disconnected) but not at very low frequencies, like Osc2. ( Osc 3 working at Low freqs was removed during the last betas, for some reasons, hence my little error, sorry for that)

* For Osc 2 working as LFO ANDD at very low freqs, it's simply a matter of compatibility with existing presets. PolyKB II already had this feature for osc 2. Else, it doesnt matter that much I think, as, beside this specific feature, all oscillator have equal features/power

* And finally yes, you can have the last PKB II v 2.1.14 installed and working simultaneously with v 3.0 on your system. This actually is what I use myself, as I had to test the compatibility of my AnaogVille soundset with this version.

Also AU validation failed in Logic Pro.....another rushed out thing before Christmas? :D
*Xmas rush : Not really. Well, these are unfortunately usual bugs for the release of neraly all synthesizers. Testing all configurations and all systems continuously is nearly impossible, at least for medium/small sized companies ( and even the biggest ones are far from beeing bug free)*

But the possible good news is that Xils is usually very reactive and fast to fix these kind of bugs

So : Thanks for the reports. Users having problems can contact Xils-Lab directly via the contact us utility on the site ( with config details, and description of the problem) Reports help a lot to track, and fix bugs. Thanks in advance.

Possible problems reported so far :

* Crash on daw exit -windows- : Rare
* Reaper crash ( probably due to preset menu)
* Ilok not recognizing 2.5.2 beta ( very rare, and a matter for PKB II.5 users only, but still reported)

In any case : There's a dongle free demo version of the PolyKB III. So everyone can test it.

ahh, right, that makes sense. yeah, it really doesn't matter (as both 2 and 3 are otherwise identical), but logically i would assume/expect that OSC3 would act as an LFO.

that's great, i think i'll do that then.

thanks!

Exactly ..... and will NKS presets also be done for the Analog Ville soundset I purchased along with the upgrade ?

Well, I have my copy up and running in Cantabile 3 right now, and all I can say is - creamy dreamy splendorous goodness everywhere! Going to dive in and alter some presets and start having fun with this - I see where this day (and several days) will be going! :D

Party time! :wheee:

Thanks for manning the helm here at KVR for us, Lotuzia. As well as thanks for your wonderful presets (bought Analog Ville for sure!) :hail:

Cheaper with vouchers
I already used my voucher for the upgrade to v2.5

As it stands now I will have paid a total of €71.4 to get to PolyKB III level (if the v3 upgrade of €25 is correct as stated now).
I've paid about €60 in total

PolyKB III : New version 3.01 available :

* Mac : Crash on OSX if you had not installed PKB II before and not launched it at least once before you used PKB III. (Thats probably why it wasn't detected by beta testers, who all had PKB II installed). Solved

I just spent the last hour tweaking knobs and pushing buttons on the PolyKB III (at last!), and I must say... what a marvelous synth! Many many congratulations to Xavier (and his team) for the amazing work on this one!

Version II was already great, but I must admit this one pushes things further thanks to the third oscillator, the second filter, and the many new modulations options. Now sky's the limit!

I always thought the PolyKB was probably (IMHO at last) the only valuable soft synth to have when one already has many hardware synths — because of its excellent sound but even more for its very own "personality", but now I feel this statement is truer than ever. None of my hardware synth can do some of these things ; and with a good MIDI controller, I can feel the same exquisite pleasure playing with the PKBIII (on this topic : will there soon be a NKS version of the PolyKBIII with the few new presets?).

So... many thanks, and well done guys — the wait issue of yesterday is just an old story

While i had PoylKB II around 6 years I have only played with PolyKB III shortly now but i alraedy think this is really amazing. Both sound and feature wise i think it is quite easy to say that this is now one of the most advanced analog polysynth emulations (while it actually mostly surpasses what was found in real analog polysynths in the past).

VERY true!

I was going to upgrade and saw that it says iLok code as an option. Does this mean I don't have to have a iLok dongle anymore? I used the eLicencer for KB II but think I would prefer to use just the iLok account if possible.

cheers
