Is fl studio ever on sale?

JRR shop have a discount running on FL Studio at the moment. I think it's about 15%. It's not advertised but will be applied when you go to pay. They also don't charge the VAT so 35% off in total. They email a serial soon after purchase and you add it to your account at the image line website. I reckon that's the cheapest way onboard at the moment

The prices on image Line's website doesn't include VAT but 20% always gets added at the checkout if you're in the EU. You won't be charged VAT at JRR shop. I stupidly sold my Image Line account earlier this year because I was a bit bored with FL after 14 years. Totally regretted it a few months later. The deal at JRR was the cheapest I could find. The licence came through 10 minutes after purchase.

aah - thanks, I think I will go for this deal. The best I have ever heard of was 50% and then another at 30% but not seeing that now anywhere. I'm waiting on a shop to get back to me with an offer but definitely getting FL soon. I have been really impressed and it complements Reaper very well. I make contemporary classical / soundscape that almost never has a regular beat / pulse so FL might seem a strange choice and I haven't seen any similar music made with it. But the sorts of techniques used by EDM composers and others in the FL world are really clever and intriguing and I think would work for me.
FL not having time sig changes for example (which is really annoying for prog composers) means almost nothing to me as I never use time sigs. The way you can stretch midi though does look handy.

I do wish I could find some videos of FL being used for non beat music tho, but maybe I'll end up being the person who has to make them

-Have the vocal match the music output. Having to turn up the volume so loud that you can't hear and the music ripping one's head off isn't pleasant.

-Don't put the stupid picture of you down at the bottom corner, even if you are attractive. It's a waste and it's distracting.

-Be clear. Even if you have to redo it several times to get to the point and not waste peoples time with endless "you know what I've saying" or long parts with dead silence because you don't know what you are doing.

ha ha - very good tips - there are so many terrible videos around that did not follow them
