I'm also blown away by Diversion, high CPU usage but the sound and the capabilities are incredible. Fun and quite easy to program too. I hope I'll be able to catch this sale, gotta spare some money for the new computer, because my poor 2008 core2duo Macbook is seriously choking with it

Tantra is great, I've been trying the demo for the last few days and was loving it, but the final (sale!) price for my country was almost 90 euros (vat...) for the bundle with expansions, so I was still hesitating. This VSTbuzz deal came exactly at the right time, it was almost half the price

If you have Tantra would also buying Movement
http://output.com/products/movement
be of any benefit. What is the highest price would
you be willing to pay for Movement.
What other excellent alternatives VSTfx are there to Tantra?
Perhaps is it difficult to think in these terms with the great
price that Tantra is being offered.
Is there any rumors for a Tantra 2 release?

I have both Tantra and Movement. Movement in my opinion is overpriced. It is useful but I would not pay that kind of money for it again. The youtube demo is very well produced and that is what sold me. Tantra is a great deal with great workflow and the extra presets are worth picking up. Movement, if priced at 70USD would be reasonable. The high price of movement has put me off of Output's plugins. Tantra is simply one of the best gaters out there and it is inpiring to use and priced right. Movement does cool things to sound but nothing I can't get with other plugins with some work.
The only addition to Tantra that I'd like to see would be an overide on the presets.. they all load with the wet at 100%... I'd like to have the abilty to load the presets with a wet dry mix that I set up so that I don't have to dial it back when working through the presets. Often I am just trying to add subtle motion to pads and loops and this little feature would save some time. But that is a niggle nothing serious.
Stutter Edit is also a worthy consideration. It is deep and not nearly as intuitive as Tantra. They are in the same family (more like distant cousins than sisters) but Stutter edit has a lot of live performance features mapped to keys that is very useful and it can do glitch better than Tantra.
If you can get Stutter Edit (I've seen it for $50) and Tantra on sale you'd be in for under $100.00 and you'd have a ton of sonic mayhem to explore. They cover some similar ground but they have enough differences to really make a powerful combination.
That would be my recommendation.
I hope that this is helpful. - Scotty

Stutter Edit is a bit too stuttery for me. I do mostly ambient.Scotty wrote:I have both Tantra and Movement. Movement in my opinion is overpriced. But at $50 it may be worth checking out and slow down all the settings.
Gotta say the Movement demo video looks great. If ever down to $70 I may just get it.

Wow I missed that! I'll give that shot. Thanks for pointing it out. I usually read manuals but I found Tantra so intuitive I didn't bother I am probably missing other things as well. I already really like this plugin so it is worth digging into it a bit more. Appreciated. - Scotty

Very tempting at $49. Apparently this will do a lot more than rhythmizing.
I have a thread at
Which Rhythm Generator is the Best?

Ah_Dziz wrote and Simon both had recommended Stutter Edit.
What's a guy to do?
So looking at Audio Damage BigSeq2 at $39

my own top 3 for sequenced effects is stutter edit, tantra and bigseq2.
note that SE is very complicated and laborious to use or even setup, not for everyone, demo it first
but certainly a great complement to the more "traditional" timeline graphs of the others

Stutter Edit works differently than other audio effect plug-ins, it requires MIDI input from your host to trigger its effects. Not all hosts allow you to send MIDI to audio effects.acYm wrote:my own top 3 for sequenced effects is stutter edit, tantra and bigseq2.

This will not be for me as I do not want to trigger effect from midi controller.
"complicated and laborious to use or even setup"
Looks like Stutter Edit is not for me.
edit: Part of the reason I am concerned about midi is that the only midi controller I have is
the 23" Multi-touch monitor using XotoPad http://feelyoursound.com/xotopad/
