Anyone jumped ship / switched DAW this year?

Personally I don't think there is any bad DAW program on the market.

Now now... that sort of friendly intelligent sensible and diplomatic thinking will not go down well here.

It's all about which DAW is TEH BESTEST and which one TEH PROES use.

Helios is truly cross platform. Beyond that though, it's really not a DAW. It's just a nice lightweight tool to do midi compositions in and has some features that make that a lot of fun.

I see that now. My ADD is even worse than it used to be.

I wish. But unfortunately people DO have serious issues that are more the result of the product and not the user.

There's really not. That is to say, sure, a guy who isn't that great of a coder might make a small DAW that has so many technical or design flaws that it only lives for a short time, is just... crap..., but that's certainly not the norm.

It's more a matter of scale. There is no universe where you put something like complex software into the mass market (millions of potential users and people demoing, whatever) and a certain percentage somewhere don't have real or legitimate issues with it. That would be the Jesus DAW.

Fortunately for us, there's so many of them now that we can always minimize that by avoiding the things that don't work well for us, even if they work well for somebody else.

After much agonising an d some great help from people on this very site I ended up buying fl studio this morning because it looks a lot of fun, very efficient and is very different to reaper which has been my sole daw since v0.4x . But I imagine I will use both.

Like I said, there is nothing wrong with it, but unless you grew up with it, it's an interesting adventure

Be sure to get to grips with key commands/mouse clicks.....you can really screw things up if you are not careful

Coming from reaper key commands should be a breeze. And adventure sounds like a plus

Been wanting to try Ableton Live Lite that came with my interface, just out of curiousity. But seeing the GUI right after start up, I closed it immediately everytime. Way too used to Cubase, I think. Maybe I'll try to get to it again next year.

Funny thing is, if you search 'worst daw ever' in google images, one of the first things to come up is Pro Tools. Followed by Cubase, Logic, FL, etc...

Live is great for unblocking creativity, it's incredibly easy to just open it up and start laying ideas down.

Switched from Live Lite 9.7 to Cubase 9.

Live has some serious bugs on Windows, so I had no choice.

If they will fix it, l'll come back and buy suite version.

Serious bugs? I've never encountered any kind of bug in Live yet. What kind of problems do you have with your setup?
