i have bee thinking of getting into mangling together some videos for my music lately

i know nothing abou this stuff.

i have been searching some free video editors

but not many of them can run on my laptop

i have tried da vinci resolve(looks awesome)
and
hitfilm 4

but they cant can on my laptop because it only has a intel HD 3000 graphic

so can anyone recommend a video editor ,that can run on this

I haven't looked into the current state of free video editors ina while, but you'd be hard pressed to do better than Resolve. Another option is Blender, the free 3D animation software, which has an integrated video editor. In the not free category, I would look at Vegas or some of the cheaper options in the Magix product line.

thanks,Resolve defo looks good,but cant run it on my laptop.i actually have blender,on the laptop,im defo gonna check that one out thanks

Vegas is the way to go if you can afford it. I picked up Vegas 14 Pro in their sale during the summer.

Does your laptop have Windows Movie Maker? Its ok for basic editing ...

Two months ago I got Nero Video 2017($50) and Adobe Premiere Elements 15($100) - they are both very good.

But just love the Nero, being all stable for me, not a single crash - even being 32-bit running on 64-bit Windows 7.
And very easy to use and understand for the most part.
Downside is they stopped making pdf-manuals, and you have to revert to 2016 version manual or use the not yet fully usable app Nero KnowHow. But have yet not found what changed in 2017 version and not in 2016 manual.
But Nero support even on forum is quite good and employees is there all the time.

Premiere - had some crashes on exit and when recording narrative tracks. I just made a post over this on Adobe forum and in some weeks Adobe technical support contacted me, and collected info and even remoted my machine. So will see if there are any updates that increase stability. But seems they are keen on trapping issues. Premiere is native 64-bit.

In the end what matters is if end result is good quality - rendering and codecs and stuff. So will evaluate these two first if any is to be preferred above the other. Can you maybe expand one and buy more filters/transitions etc - but don't feel much is lacking.

Both are equally good to work in and favour Nero that can have full screen video on second monitor. Premiere only allow undock timeline so you can move that over on two monitors, you are stuck with a smaller preview.

My experience with Magix Samplitude ProX2 tells me Magix is not be trusted with maintenance at all. I am not going there again - even now they bought Sony Vegas and a range of home editing software.

I cm only recommend Sony (or now, Magix) Movie Studio Platinum. Easy to use, good GUI, and lots of built in tutorials to get you started. And inexpensive. I really like using it.

Lightworks has something uniquely elegant in its work flow.

Of course Vegas Pro is a great tool too.

I use Vegas Pro 14. Kinda irritated that Magix seems to have just wanted a quick cash cow and didn't do much of an update from 13 to 14 nor do they seem to have anything in the works they are wanting to talk about but it's still the best editor for Windows IMO. When combined with HitFilm, it becomes very powerful.

As we're at it: Is there something similar to Adobe After Effects (of course, not as powerful, or complete) for small money, or, perferrable as effects for Movie Studio, or Vegas (i think Movie Studio allows to load Vegas effects)? I doubt that there is, but thought i'd ask anyway.

A couple that haven't been mentioned yet are VSDC free video editor: http://www.videosoftdev.com/ and Shotcut: https://www.shotcut.org/ Shotcut has been referred to as the "Reaper" of video editors and it gets updated monthly. Shotcut is also free.

Reaper himself also has some video editing capabilities.

Recommend me a video editor (win 7 64bit laptop)
