If Mr. Rudess wouldn't be able to withstand some KVR heckling, how would he be able to build a career of 30 years?

This must be childsplay compared to how it must have been on the road over the years.

not the point at all, in my eyes he's just another member entitled to the same treatment as anyone else. I expect nothing more or nothing less.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Yes. Strange. One should think the patronizing pettiness of KVR would be irrestistable to any celeb.

Post

First off, I dunno "if" ;)

Second, gearslutz supposedly has "celebrities" and they are mess.

People are going to give opinions. People that are in charge have other ideas. Who knows.

Jordan Rudess certainly seems an excellent musician.
(I've only watched him in videos of products he was promoting, and which I was interested in buying, rather than knowing him from his music per se).

This thread is certainly a strange one, and there is definitely a strong undercurrent here by some KVR members of bashing successful musicians.
(It seems like only some sound designers get a much easier ride by KVR members).
Which is a shame, as you can't then blame said musicians for not wanting to contribute further on KVR.

No, we don't know if this actually is Jordan - just like many people's real identities on KVR are unknown or hidden.
But it would have been nice to see some benefit of doubt being given to the OP (who joined in 2004: so it seems unlikely to wait 12 years for a wind-up), rather than 'proof' of his identity be immediately demanded and silly attempts be made to mock Jordan Rudess by a few jealous, overly-suspicious middle-aged men who should know how to act more fairly.

@hibidy - what do you mean by some 'celebrities are mess' over at Gearslutz?
Can't say there's anyone (successful) over there who would consider themselves a celebrity.
And there are plenty of successful, respected musicians (such as Paul Hartnoll of Orbital) and music industry professionals (such as Bob Clearmountain) who post there regularly. They certainly wouldn't view themselves as celebrities.

Ultimately, there's nothing wrong with famous or successful musicians posting on internet forums.
Why shouldn't they talk about music and share communication like anyone else?
However this simple concept seems tricky for some of those in this thread, and on KVR generally, to grasp. Immature idiots.

Birth name Jordan Charles Rudes
Born November 4, 1956 (age 60). Is that a bit middle aged?
Occupation(s) Keyboard ''wizard'. Is that a bit childish?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Surely you mean Birth Name Jordan Charles Rudess?

Not sure why you've mentioned keyboard wizard.
(Has he?)

I just saw a flying cock image a few pages back. Or further back where a member posted a link to an old thread with title like "please go away jordan rudess". Not sure if this counts as abuse or insults or not.

KVR members have been making silly gifs of each other since forever, without any malicious intent at all. Including Mr. Rudess in that culture isn't an insult; it's merely a mild form of hazing.
I've been here long enough and I do understand teasing or pulling leg, making silly gifs, etc., between members here. It's all in the spirit of fun. But would you do that to someone who has just posted a self-introduction thread and is obviously not familiar with anyone here? I'm not talking celebs here, just anybody. It feels to me more like cyber bullying than having friendly fun.

I think it's all about context. It's all good and fun to make silly prank stuff sometimes. But there are times that I think are not very appropriate.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Great, so people should call him Jordan, I mean, nobody calls me Mr. Something 8)

There used to be a huge ad (featuring the unaltered pic) that was quite annoying in its omnipresence.
Thread & flying cock were in response to the ad, not the person.

There are a couple of images that have a habit of resurfacing here on KVR every now and then. For a while it was vurtkitten, then Jordan was everywhere holding strange things in his hands, and there was also that photo of the guy asleep in his chair.

Photoshopping images of Jordan is almost like a rite of passage here at KVR and part of the reason for his cult status here.

I think more than one person used "Mr", they obviously feel he is deserving of that respect. I however said nothing that speaks to or against that at all, dont try and read between the lines. If a member here chooses to give me their real first name often I address them by that otherwise I address them by their screen name. In this case he indeed gave us his full name, it's up to the individual whether they choose his screen name, his first name, his last name or something like Mr, it's not up to me as long as it stays civil.
