FWIW, I'd quite like reading the inside experience of people like Jordan Rudess, Bob Clearmountain, Bob Katz et al on KVR but perhaps that's not possible here unlike on other sites?

I like that sort of thing too. But the fact is that most musical celebrities who come to this forum don't come to talk. They come to promote a product. The only exception I have seen here was Chris from Audio Damage. And Chris was more than happy to mix it up with all comers.

And again, it isnt like Kvr is some uniquely horrible place. Look at the kind of abuse, and I mean REAL abuse, not a few silly jokes, that Ethan Winer took from Eric Sarafin and his pals from the Womb. It happened at Gearslutz and Hydrogen Audio, and it went on for months. And ALL of the people involved were audio professionals.

I would love to find a quiet corner of the internet, where civilized and witty people could converse in a polite and reasonable way. I have even found a few of them. Sadly they are all closed. Why? Because no one visited them.

Popularity brings vulgarity. It is an iron law.

Have to say I'm a little puzzled. As fantastic as he is, many of us remember him basically endorsing everything and in advertising ... he was over-exposed.

Ahhh....

Someone mentioned him on Facebook a bit back and I replied that, whilst I'd never heard a note of his music, Jordan Rudess would always be a hero to me.
