PS: I do produce EDM quite a bit, so really, I should like it, but i just don't for some reason (have never been able to put my finger on it
So, will you, or have you bought Sylenth1?

I've demo'd it multiple times before, and decided, seeing as it's on sale (which rarely happens of course), lets give it another bash... and no. I simply can never get myself to actually take out my wallet for it. Each to his own I guess

What makes me think so about what? I didnt said that all but majority. You are not in majority.recursive one wrote:What makes you think so?Elektronisch wrote: Indeed, but taking in to concideration majority of people are from west "world" where economy is pretty strong
E.g. in my city (second largest in my country) the average payment per month is roughly equal to Omnisphere license + Zebra license.

I'm not sure where did you get the data about the KVR demographics
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Here in Portugal the economy is anything but strong, same in Spain. Here, where some people can't pay their electricity bills anymore, 100 euros is a lot of money to a lot of people.

Sylenth1 on sale was my Christmas purchase for myself this year. Total GAS since I already have so many synths that do exactly what it does sound wise (Spire, Predator, Dune 2, Synthmaster to name just a few). At this point I feel like I am buying things just because I want to mess with them vs having any needs.
Even I was offended by what I was going to put here.

no ofcourse not, im just presuming, because in general pirating software is more common in less economicly capable countries wich is a fact, logicaly thinking the initial thought would be that bigger part of bought vst intsruments and effects would be from countries with stronger economies or at least the ones where peole dont have to live from paycheck to paycheck just to survive (even without depts and morgadges) like USA, UK, Canada, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Australia and so on on..

There are tens of millions of such people in the US as well, even in Germany a lot of people depend on handouts.
Also, musicians and artists in general are on average among the poorest people in the West. Stars are just a tiny piece of the pie.

Well, if someone tries to earn for living from music, most certainly theye are.fluffy_little_something wrote: Also, musicians and artists in general are on average among the poorest people in the West.
Another group is hobbyists who have regular job and lots of money, but no time or skills to make music - just buy tons of stuff in hope it will make music for them. Or just collect stuff with no goal to actually make any significant piece with it.

I had Sylenth1 years ago, and eventually sold it as I just wasn't using it as much as I used to. This sale has a great price, but I won't buy it this time around. For that type of sound I have Dune 2, ANA, and Icarus, so they will keep me busy for a while.GeorgeZ wrote:I've demo'd it multiple times before, and decided, seeing as it's on sale (which rarely happens of course), lets give it another bash... and no. I hold on to my Sylenth and won't.. let it go!!! I wish I held on to Diva but I had to sacrifice it for Dune 2... now Tyrell and Synth1 together has to hold Divas place...Examigan wrote:I had Sylenth1 years ago, and eventually sold it as I just wasn't using it as much as I used to. I bought it years ago (2008 IIRC). Two system and 6 DAW upgrades later, it kind of got lost in the shuffle. Funny that I have ton of stuff that roughly does what it does, but still, it really does have a much thicker sound that does make it unique.
Thanks to this thread I will be reinstalling it. Just got my updated license credentials from Lennard.

Here in my country, 100 euros means almost 10000 rupees. I'm a student i get 300 rupees roughly as pocket money. Saving up some money but it'll take a while to reach 100 euros.fluffy_little_something wrote:Here in Portugal the economy is anything but strong, same in Spain.
