My girlfriend hates my music making

Either make better music or get a better girlfriend.
Better yet: make better music AND get a better girlfriend.
My wife of 27 years (yikes!) doesn't always get my music, but she gets that I have to do it. She refers to my home studio as my "other wife." Over the years, she has actually surprised me with several guitars as birthday gifts (and they are my favorites because she bought them). Mind you, she knows nothing about guitars, but what I love is that she cared enough to do the research and pretty much hit the bullseye every time.
Cheers

If KVR represent the standard, who'd blame her?Zexila wrote:Yeah, one of the girls on other forum is saying like: "Who needs men, get yourself a horse."

Animal cruelty folks probably at some point.IncarnateX wrote:If KVR represent the standard, who'd blame her?Zexila wrote:Yeah, one of the girls on other forum is saying like: "Who needs men, get yourself a horse."
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

Wouldn't be with someone that didn't like me making music.
She sounds pretty ignorant to me.
I certainly don't mind my girlfriend's hobbies I encourage them. We do our own thing...

Whatever you do, ignore the advice in this thread that amounts to playing childish games. This isn't about who scores the most bitch points or who can make things shittier for the other person.
Figure out what you want, talk to her about what she wants, and take it from there. If you can't solve your problems by talking, you sure as hell won't solve them by playing games with each other.

I could understand her better if you were playing video games, but making music is a bit different.
Still, even I as a man would probably be more interested in a woman fighting the abuse of animals than in a woman making mediocre music. Female bass players are cool, though
I think women in general are more into living beings than machines, unlike men. Different priorities, probably based on genetics. I remember an animal shelter, all employees including the vets were women.

Realistically... if she doesn't like who you are... it's not gonna work.
However... if she is truly open minded and just wants some quality time, follow this simple daily routine... plan your night early, help her with dishes, talk/chat, give her the best sex she's ever had (doesn't have to take long if you're focused), lay with her for an hour, tell her you love her, massage her until she is drowsy, then get back to music.
Sounds really tacky... but to get your cake and eat it too, there must be a compromise (on both parts).

If your partner doesn't respect your talents and hobbies I'd say break up. And I'm very honest. These are a part of who we are as an individual, if the other doesn't agree on that, it's bye bye.

Ditch her quick. Sounds like a pure narcissist. She is clearly unable to realize that anything outside herself can have thoughts and feelings. I'm 100% sure the rat and rabbit would be much happier on their own... as would you.boriskarloff wrote:No. We have four animals (+ 9 yr old girl) in our 2 rooms flat. I love our french bulldog, but cat, rabbit and a rat are not my "loved ones". But every time she asks me I go and clean their cages if I don't want to. Few times she sad to me: "You can never compare sitting in front of PC with loving and care of a living (animal) soul"nineofkings wrote:Is fighting animal cruelty part of her income, like in a nonprofit?
