Apple Mainstage3 Alchemy library batch conversion to SFZ

Hello,

I recently purchased Mainstage3 with its Alchemy synth and it is nice, but I would like to use the huge WAV library in SFZ sampler. What is great is the whole library is very cleanly named in the following pattern:

Now, is there a batch tool that will create me SFZ files for each individual directory of WAV files. This would give me huge collection of instruments in basic configuration so I could start playing with them. I am targeting for one-layered instruments for now, I can see dozens of multi-layer or even round-robin samples there, but the naming conventions are also clean.

I also see EXS and AAZ files among waves, it looks like Alchemy can load EXS24 instruments and AAZ is some kind of binary patch format. I assume there is not a reader for such a format, so building SFZ from scratch is the only way for me I think.

Do the samples not have an sfz text file with them? If so, use that.

Not in the newer Logic version - they dropped sfz support (it now imports Logic exs format instead) but the wav files are still organised in a well structured way that would make them easy enough to make sfzs from.

Of course they will sound nothing like the Alchemy patches

There are lots of free editors for PC, but struggling to find anything for mac (apart from a text app obviously)

Yeah but there isn't a format to convert as such, these are just wav files organised in a folder (mapped to an Alchemy acp preset - but that is not any sort of sample format type preset anything else could convert).

Yeah, perhaps I should say I am looking for a batch conversion tool that can help me to build one-layered instruments. I can play with multi-layered ones manually.

Not a batch converter (and may not do all that you want) but have you tried Polyphone Soundfont editor? It works on a Mac, can import samples, can (sort of) detect root notes/auto-map the samples and export to SFZ (although I had better results exporting to sf2). Worth a try?
