Ow sure!! Me too! It is just so freakin expensive a.t.m. I am using 2x1080P as well btw.lavizh wrote:Yet i would love to use a 4K for my production, so i fully understand Manuel's stand on this. The standard (most used res) a.t.m. is still 1366x768. For enthousiasts it is around 1080P and 1440P. And for pro users it is 1440P and above mostly. 4K is still a niche and it will be that way for some time, i am sure.

I see you are being positive about it but please be realistic. Will take couple years before its standard. Most people really dont care about 4k yet, only hdr on tv thats really makes the biggest difference. Im only on 23 inch display 4k wont do much for me. I wish avenger was more hd friendly, the downscaling makes it really blury. If i ever gona get 4k its not to be priced low enought and big enought to take advantage from 4k. Like now i did use my money on something more important and that was getting avenger! 4k vs avenger i buy avenger any day even for same price! Lvoe the synth! Hope this blurry display on hd gets a thing in the past in some near updatemsvs wrote:4k will soon be default everywhere. In the TV world, its already standard... and tbh I think this is good. I am with you 4k is no standard - not in TV world and for sure not in computerworld. But 1366x768? Who would use that resolution???exmatproton wrote:The standard (most used res) a.t.m. is still 1366x768. For enthousiasts it is around 1080P and 1440P. But I am with Manuel as well: it will be standard in a few years time. And as a developer that tries to build the future and not only react on future developements I see why they chose that way.
Bad for me and everybody not using 4k by now - but it's the same looking at 32/64 bit. 64 is the future. So is 4k.

It is the res that is used by most people. Really, i am not kidding. Notice my extra comment about the place most kvr-ists are probably in; the enthousiast group; 1080P or maybe 1440P. But worldwide, most people still use 1366x768.Warehouseparty wrote:I am with you 4k is no standard - not in TV world and for sure not in computerworld. But 1366x768? And i am sure it will take time before 1080P is the most used resolution. 4K is still a niche and it will take probably much longer then Manuel and you think.

Mmmmhhh.....maybe that is because of the desktop world is evolving so slowly. It takes years before "new" things get adopted.exmatproton wrote:It is the res that is used by most people. Well, that + laptops. Many laptops in use are 300 to 700 euro ones. Which usually have lower res displays build in.Cinebient wrote:Mmmmhhh.....maybe that is because of the desktop world is evolving so slowly. I would have hoped at least 1080p would be the most used resolution, but it's easy for people living in more wealthy countries to say. Myself I have 2 x 1080p as "satellites", and 1 x 1440p as center. During 2017 (or 2018) I'm hoping to upgrade to 4k monitors. I'm afraid everything will be so small though, because if I'm going to use 3 monitors, I will have to purchase 3 x 27" screens.
On a laptop I would never ever settle for a 1366x768 display, as a laptop normally has a longer lifespan.

Maybe true, but just make the product decent scalable, so in small size all fonts are readable.exmatproton wrote:Well, no.msvs wrote:4k will soon be default everywhere. In the TV world, its already standard... and tbh I think this is good. Anyone who worked already on a 4k screen won't go back

I just ordered a 1440 27" screen, so that's my new standard and I think this will be for some more years.
Also, many users are still on laptops.
Check the font when you edit presets or the vertical text in the keyboard layers.

Guys target group for Avenger for sure is NOT the average internet user! A Macbook is above HD, most desktopusers producing music will use HD or better. I feel like I am behind by using 1 24" screen. Always keep your target in mind!

"4k will soon be default everywhere. In the TV world, its already standard... and tbh I think this is good. Anyone who worked already on a 4k screen can't go back anymore
Which isn't true at all. Not by a long shot. Not even with pro-users. Hell, 4K isn't standard in "tv-world" at all. I am not sure where Manuel gets that info...That's all i am saying. It will take a long time before 4K becomes standard and i think therefor a good scalable UI is the best way to go

first time i have to disagree, this is nonsense, only people with more money would say that or who spend most money to new screens...msvs wrote:4k will soon be default everywhere. it will be in the next years. I think so. Prices will fall rapidly.Which isn't true at all. Not by a long shot. Not even with pro-users. Hell, 4K isn't standard in "tv-world" at all. Atm you can get 1080p TFTs for >100€. Several years ago, FULL HD cost multiple times more.
You can get something beyond 1080p for 250€ already. If you can afford VSTi's you can afford this, too.
regarding TVs: I bought a TV for xmas and it would have been hard to get a decent one, which is NOT 4k atm. So I went for a 4k (even if I do not see the benefit in 4k for a TV, when you sit 5m away)
Of course I am talking about Germany. It may differ completely in other countries.
