i wanna add 3 vst instruments( for example piano, bass, string) in cubase 5,
how can i switch between these vsts with midi controller?
use piano sound and then go to string and etc,,,
is this possible????

Good question. I do not think that it is possible to use a midi controller to switch between individual instruments. There might be a way to do such an operation within a multi-timbral vsti (eg - sampletank).

I don't know about Cubase 5 in particular.

#1. change midi channel on midi keyboard controller will allow different instrument respond
One can respond to channel 1, another on 2 etc.

You may also use split keyboard into four parts on some, playing on one part sends on a set midi channel.

You may also use midi channel filter plugin on input, if daw always convert input to channel 1.

#2. Some daws have a setting that an active midi track is armed for record always.
So if using some buttons to change active track on daw may activate input on that track.

yes, that's possible. Just set the midi channels for each instruments, and the midi channel from the keyboard will only trigger the ones in the same channel number.
