Interested in Acoustica as an alternative to Audacity. Not as a full on DAW for producing music, but more like a semi-mastering/post suite: analysing exported waveforms (phase, clipping etc), cleaning up tracks (silences, fades), samplerate conversions, arranging tracks for CD burning, generating MP3s from mastered files and so on. Audacity does most of this but not all - it also seems to automatically dither when you re-export wave files even at 32-bit FP, which I don't like.

So it's dive into Acoustica or save up for Wavelab (is the Elements version any good?) - what do you think?

Post

Acoustica? Not recommended. 32bit only and no development in the two years since I bought it.

32-bit only?! OK that's an instant NO.

Thanks for the heads up!

Sadly yes.

We are well aware of these limitations and are working hard on version 7. Please bear with us for a couple of months more... We'll make some announcements at NAMM in January and expect to release in the beginning of Q2 2017.

Best,
Stian
