Anyway I've tested Cobalt 5 on my studio computer and am getting clicks with the Les patch when set to mono even Legato. I didn't get any more notes cutting off even with some rather aggressive playing so that must have been a system specific issue probably related to the Virtual Keyboard in Reaper. I'll let someone else test the clicking issue since maybe I'm just stupid........

Both Cobalt4 and Cobalt5 produce a click when I :
Load the -les- preset, switch to mono set osc1 level to zero, play a few notes, then set osc2 to zero and play a note...."CLICK!"
It's only one click ( and I have to up the osc2 level, play a few notes, back down osc2 level to make it click again, and then not every time I succeed but), is this the click you mean ?

BTW this also clicks in polymode.

TBH I don't really mind the click(s) (I couldn't hear them) I just wanted to know what kind of clicks Tek meant so I went on a strange crusade.

The clicks I get are related to the Amp Env. Some clicks are expected if the Attack time is zero but on one patch I got clicks when the Attack was set much higher but not when it was set to Zero. That was the "Sweeter Lead" in the zip file I linked above. I'll have to document the steps in more detail. Maybe I'm just not understanding how the Envs are intended to behave.....

I'm running cubase 7.5 on a dedicated DAW, Intel i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz, 32 GB RAM. Win 7 Professional, 64 bit. My system is completely streamlined for audio recording.

I'm getting a weird spike with my real-time peak readout in Cubase's VST performance window. Running Cobalt the average load is probably about 2%. The real-time peak usually is about half that. However every once in a while and it is usually after I pick a new preset and start playing, the real-time peak jumps up to 100% and then floats right down to the usual 1%. Frequently this produces a click. No crashes so far.

Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Sounds like a denormal problem. Are there particular presets where this is more likely to occur? Is Cobalt sounding the previous preset when you change?

That is an interesting thought. I didn't get a chance to test this last night but I should be able to get to it at some point today. I'll check it out and report back. Thanks Leslie.

So I can confirm it is not happening at the preset switch. When you switch, the current sound stops completely and nothing out of the ordinary is showing up on my real time peak meter. There is no sound coming from my system at that point. Then as soon as I play the first note of the new patch, the real time peak meter may or may not shoot up. Usually when it does this, it goes all the way to 100% and then floats down. Sometimes it just goes to 50% or so although this is rarer than the 100%. And sometimes it doesn't go up at all. I have tried to trigger it many different ways, repeating presets, flipping back and forth between the same two presets, looking at presets with long tails vs. short, and I can't seem to get a consistent predictable behavior with this.

It doesn't crash my system when it does this and I love some of the sounds I'm getting out of it so I'm keeping it in the rotation for now but thought I would ask if others are seeing the same thing as I am.

- I removed a mutex from the code which appears to have been causing the CPU spikes BassMasterK ran into.
- I changed the retrigger logic of the envelopes to hopefully remove the click that was introduced by fixing a bug.
- Font weight is supported for the status area and the drop downs.

I've got a question. Would an extra menu item be welcomed in order to give credit for the skin?

So when you click the logo, you'd see the existing menu items, but if it's a custom skin, they'd be another item: "Skin Credit" or "Skin Info" or something. Clicking it would bring up a dialog with info about the skin and credit to the author.

Instead of text in the ini file, the dialog could display a custom background with the text baked in. Additionally, there could be a clickable area that would take you to the author's website. In other words, it would have the same functionality as the existing about dialog only it would be dedicated to the skin author.

Would skin authors be interested in that?
