Ah that's interesting. THankswagtunes wrote:I know. The button kept taking me to a whoops page.bjporter wrote:Looks like it works again. BTW, to the right of each track there's a button to go directly to the soundcloud pagewagtunes wrote:Voted
There was a problem with one of the tracks. It wouldn't play on the voting page. I had to go to the official Soundcloud playlist, find the track, play it there, and then come back to the voting page to vote.

It was the 2nd song, that made problems playing inside the page, right?wagtunes wrote:Voted

I had to go to the official Soundcloud playlist, find the track, play it there, and then come back to the voting page to vote. I'm not sure what the problem is but when I tried to go to the song from the voting page by clicking on the little cloud, Soundcloud couldn't find it and gave me a whoops message.
Anyway, these guys really brought it this month. As stingy as I tried to be with my 5 point votes, I still ended up giving out 10 of them and tons of 4s. In fact, only 4 tracks (not including my own) got less than 3 points from me.
Truly an amazing month and I wouldn't even dream of trying to pick a winner.
Normally I just give one top rating to have enough headroom but the songs was so good (i'm really new to kvr, so I was not that much bound to friendships while voteing), I was forced to give away three 5th places and more 4th than I dreamt of.

This time I decided to come up with a rating system.
I had to rate the tracks according to several criteria:
-The idea/atmosphere
-arranging
-mixing
-sound design
For each criterion added to assess 1 point.
Since 1 point in any track you already have, then I just add 1 to the sum on 4 criteria.

Ugh...voting time, I totally ignored it until today...Dang it's a good lot again.
Slave, why did you disable comments? I really enjoy your track, nicely understated in a confident way!
But... ah... 2 YEARS?!? I guess, it's from some old synth1 osc? Funny that it's in the voting now...

I considered the same issue earlier in the month.Taron wrote: But... ah... 2 YEARS?!? I guess, it's from some old synth1 osc? Funny that it's in the voting now...
But another kind OSC'er (with a premium SC account) was willing to check for me if changing the sound file (by editing the listing and uploading a new file) for a previously posted SoundCloud track would update the original posted date.
It does not.
So technically one could write a completely new composition with no notes or themes the same specifically for OSC94 in December of 2016, but post it under an older listing which would give the "new" composition the older date.
The "why" of doing that escapes me, but it is possible.

Since I'm still fighting with soundcloud commenting I will write some words here instead. There are very good selections of awesome tracks again. But there are three of them to stand above all other tracks (for me) that if I can, I will put 6 points to them
.
And those 3 are:
Taron - BornIntoSynth: well what can I say. I like your music and "experiments" you do with sound, compostition and it always sound crystal clear.
Brainzistor - Everything Above Us: Like that agressive style but mostly I love those percs
Photonic - Signal Lost: Who needs samplers and other comercial stuff when you cant tweak this free synth to sound real. U got great presets making skills.
Other tracks worth to mention are:
Jasinksy - ZawnZong: Always quality stuff.
J.Ruegg - StarRain: I'm not much on edm but this one is nice and sound clear.
574X - 2017 Dance Party!: As said earlier im not edm fun but another good one.
DoctorBob - Floating with Synth1: I like this one because it is something different. Only thing that even after some rework I think it is still need some tuning to sound better. Then it will be another 6 pointer.
I'm not saying other tracks are not good enough to mention but those tracks above sticks in my head and I still renember them.
What I learn after few rounds in OSC that all talking on KVR instruments section about synth and which one is better then other because of special crap are pure nonsense. Instrument is only that good as the one who play on it.

or I could easily rename the old file, change URL on SC accordingly and upload a new version under old name for the contest.Frostline wrote:I considered the same issue earlier in the month.Taron wrote: But... ah... 2 YEARS?!? Instead of spending time on investigation, you could just ask me
There is no mystery here.
Original music was written (and registered with BMI) in 2014.
If you have time, you can listen to it here:
http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.p ... aID=643192
The same year it was uploaded to Soundcloud.
For two years it was sitting there practically unnoticed.
So, I decided it wasn't fare to my baby.
I replaced non Synth1 parts with Synth1 quite successfully and honestly think it sounds better. It's all about music isn't it?
I had submitted my rearranged music to OSC contests before and nobody talked about "specifically for" rule.
I never hid that - you can check my conversation with mehum in the middle of the page here:
https://soundcloud.com/slava-fiks/techno-mantranized
The same story with "Play 7" for 89th OSC.
And yes, I voted.
Slava
