First new music for the new year. Recorded a little jam with my new camera.
Still trying to get comfortable with these live one-take recordings but I think this one turned out okay.

Since I had the forethought to multitrack at the same time I was recording the video, I was able to polish the mix in post-production (yay!). I still need to work out the lighting issues and some other details, but I'm getting there.

I must confess I usually shudder when clicking on a demo of anything with 'modular' in the title. In the same way I shudder when my 2 year old pick up a stick near something loud.

That was really nice. It sounds like something I would download from Apple Music for my daily walk/run.

You have quite the setup. I'm still debating wether to get Reactor 6 or Brazille to try creating some sounds.

Boy, that'd be a tough call. Bazille is by far my favorite soft synth but Reaktor is a strong second. I wouldn't want to be without either. I love running evolving timbres from Bazille into granular or modal patches in Reaktor.

Totally transfixed by all the sounds. Lots of super cool, original percussive elements everywhere.

I still need to work out the lighting issues and some other details, but I'm getting there.

A different camera angle would be nice, to see less of your back side.

Yeah, be glad I didn't go with the first take... My pants were sagging a bit low, so you could see my underwear. I put on a belt for the second take.

I'm really loving Audio Damage's percussion modules, Proton and Neuron, as well as Noise Engineering's Basimilus Iteritas. They can be very dynamic in terms of timbre, without changing in volume too drastically. Some of the other percussion sounds came from a more elaborate synth voice or from banging on the case which has a piezo mic (Mutable Instrument' Ears), which is then run through a bunch of effects.
